reading up about ghd hair straighteners and it says that it's because they heat up to a much higher temperature than other irons that they are sealing in moisture and protecting the hair.
something about creating negative ions??

I need some solution to make my hair straight and frizz free but i have to wash it almost everyday and i stoppped using my remington straighteners coz i thought they were damaging.
How come i keep seeing these young girls with perfect hair everyday?

Do you use conditioner? There is a particular conditioner (name escapes me) which is triggered by heat, i.e. it is meant to be used with hairdryers and the like. Perhaps using that would help.

dont know about the ghd straighteners but i use hair straighteners and use andrew collinge heat protect spray which i spray on before straightening, helps stop hair beakage.

festiveface · 08/01/2006 17:08

is your hair in good condition still spacecadet and do you use them everyday?

yes, my hair is still in good condition, i tend to straighten most days if i have time, although i think they suggest that you dont use them everyday, the spray is great though, makes my hair feel really soft.

spacecadet · 08/01/2006 17:13

i have the babyliss pro 230 straighteners btw.

festiveface · 08/01/2006 17:16

i'll give that a go then.
i saw a tresemme one and wondered if that was any good but didn't buy it coz i don't know of anyone who recomends it

spacecadet · 08/01/2006 17:18

the andrew collinge spray is cheaper in asda btw[cheapskate emoticon]

janeite · 08/01/2006 17:26

I wouldn't recommend the treseme stuff - am still trying to work my way through a huge pot before buying something else but haven't found it very good at all to be honest. What else would anybody recommend - have just bought myself these:
www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1052360&classificationid=1040314&slmRefer=000
as I could no way justify paying for GHDs even if they are the best thing, negative ions and all!

paolosgirl · 08/01/2006 17:34

I bought the Tresemme hot iron protector spray - I don't think it's too bad, actually.

festiveface · 08/01/2006 17:35

well i don't understand the negative ions thing ! I thought the hotter they were the more damage.
