Toys NOT to buy for xmas

Thought we could start a thread to warn people against wasting their money on certain toys for xmas. My vote goes to anything from the "ready steady cook" range. We have the popcorn maker-basically a light bulb that pops one kernel every 2 minutes, nearly as well used as the icecream maker which produces horrible slush from a sachet full of chemicals. Both have been used once and take up huge amount of space-utter rubbish!

Have been very amused by the clothing tangent, thanks

But...back to original question. Fisher Price Twirlin' Whirlin' Garden. All the drive belts popped out of ours after a couple of hours use (I wanted to take it back but dh dismantled it and put it back together), it is SO NOISY when all the little plastic bits are whirlin' around on the turntables and it only plays one tune which can drive you to drink in 30 seconds flat. Ours is banished to the dark pit which is the cupboard under the stairs.

Actually, I think I'd extend that to anything with batteries....

I have always been very relaxed about my own 4 kids and basically let them take responsibility for changing their own underwear. They know that my own standards are to change my own pants once per day but now they are older I let them decide for themselves.
My husbands 3 daughters who stay with us regularly always come with a spare suitcase full of pants as their mother insists that they change twice a day and must NEVER go to bed without pants on.
I just find it all very bizarre and can't help but feel that the woman has some kind of genital phobia.
Zebra, you are an inspiration and your kids are lucky to have you.
Bet you'll be the coolest mum around when they are teenagers.
