my friend finds her huggababy ring sling good. That has scope for going up to toddlerhood.

busybusybee · 05/01/2006 22:56

I guess that makes three times then - Mummytosteven agrees with me so Im thinking i must be right!

I couldn't imagine carrying a toddler in one of these slings??
doesn't it hurt your back??

mummytosteven · 05/01/2006 23:00

you would use the sling to form a hip seat, in a similar fashion to hippychick but more adaptable.

rummum · 05/01/2006 23:02

i've just googled a hippychick as well...

Don't they hurt your back??

busybusybee · 05/01/2006 23:04

I carry dd aged 18 months - no back ache as long as she is in it correctly and i dont carry her for too long

Up to an hour is fine

Skribble · 05/01/2006 23:04

Dh managed to carry DS on his back with the wilkinet one but we got a proper back pack one when he got to heavy. Wilkinet . DS loved facing forwards.

I had a baby bjorn carrier... I loved to use that but daughter got to big [chubby and heavy] to quick.. either that or I'm too weak..

couldn't imagine carrying her over a year old for too long...

Skribble · 05/01/2006 23:10

DS was 11lb7oz so I never carried him much, he prefered to spread out in the pram.

rummum · 05/01/2006 23:12

Gawd.... at birth??

Skribble · 05/01/2006 23:15

Yes indeed I could barely lift him to feed him never mind humph him about in a sling, I had a section so i couldn't even to bath him at first. I loved the Silver crosses I had.

I used the carrier while getting on the bus with a buggy when he was a bit bigger as I couldn't hold him, a buggy and pay without starting to struggle with the weight.

Thanks to everyone who replied! Labour intervened hence the delayed response, and I now have a beautiful baby daughter to look forward to showing off.

I'm so happy! xxx
