You can not and should not buy on E bay, Why, oh Why, would you put her into shoes that had been moulded my another childs feet ???????????

Sorry to sound preachy, but I would go without food before I would scrimp on footwear and that is true all the way to a childs teens and beyond.

biglips · 05/01/2006 00:15

oh gosh lady.. i never really thought of that!

My DD stayed in soft bobux/daisy roots/inch blue type shoes for ages. Her first Clarks crawlers were size 4.

Gingerbear · 05/01/2006 00:19

first shoes from clarks outlet store were £6 in the sale. (Still on)

biglips · 05/01/2006 00:23

Biglips,

Sorry if I sounded bossy, but even when my parents were skint when we were 3 children under 6, we were always fitted for shoes. There were times when there was not a lot of money, after we had all been fitted for shoes, but I am soooooo grateful to them now.

Hope this makes sense.

LGJ

Can I just ask though? Has anyone actually heard of a case of a child's feet being in any way damaged by a pair of shoes? Because surely if they hurt, the child would protest, or if they left marks, you wouldn't put them on again? I have never come across an adult whose feet were damaged by ill fitting/second hand shoes.

I am sure (but not sure enough to risk it lol) that this "Non-professionally fitted shoes wreck your child's feet" thing has come directly from Clarks.

biglips · 05/01/2006 00:30

lady - thanks for your advice as honestly didnt think of what you said before about being moulded into some other childs feet

well the child's bone in the body is still soft where the adults bones is harder

And surely if they are moulded into a certain shape, they will remould to the shape you want them to be? And this should take no longer and be no more traumatic than if they had been new, and therefore just shoe shaped?

I am not arguing, just questioning, as I genuinely don't know.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 05/01/2006 00:33

If, you saw my B/F's feet you would see what I mean, however much as she loves me, I seriously doubt she would allow me to photgraph them, and post them for random strangers to peruse on the WWW.

Aloha · 05/01/2006 00:34

If they were moulded they wouldnt' be on ebay. They are mostly unworn or barely worn, surely? I'd still rather ds tried them on, but then he has abnormally chubby wide feet - like trotters. Bless.

colditz · 05/01/2006 00:35

But were they damaged as a child, or as a teenager wearing heels? As I know a lot of women who have crap feet, but it all seems to be from wearing heels (and don't get me started on heels for under 14's!)

LadySherlockofLGJ · 05/01/2006 00:38

My B/Friend is Mrs Sensible, and never wore heels etc.,

It all came from not being fitted properly for shoes, and even her Mother would accept that.

However, it is horses for courses, and I apologise if I was too blunt.

colditz · 05/01/2006 00:41

No no, not digging at you LGJ, just wondered.

I have a dull life, and things like this interest me intensely.

Sadly.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 05/01/2006 00:43

No ,I realise you were not being argumentative, but I possibly jumped in and posted too quickly in the first place.
