popsycal you have to pull out a secutiry tab type thing.
It's at the back, a clear plastic strip. Then it should work when you clap, chat, sing, shout....believe me, you'll want to turn it off!!!

harktheheraldAIMSMUMsings · 03/01/2006 12:10

Do you not have to clap or make a noise or something to activate it after you have switched it on?

popsycalindisguise · 03/01/2006 12:10

aha"
off yto try

popsycalindisguise · 03/01/2006 12:12

right there doesnt seem to be a security tag...where exactly was it...

OP posts:
Clary · 03/01/2006 12:17

popsycal IIRC it was at the back underneath the right shoulder...
We don't have one, I just had one at work to try out for a feature we did about Christmas toys. Will try to find the one we used and have another look....

popsycalindisguise · 03/01/2006 12:18

there is a slot where you mention clary.....with nothing in it....

hmmmm
has dh pulled it out or was it never there....

Clary · 03/01/2006 12:31

OK just looking at the office one as it were. Actually I think the security tag was beside the circular bit in the centre of his back - where you had to unscrew a screw to get him out of the box.
It that's gone then he may just be faulty? I promise he is extremely reactive, starts singing and cartwheeling as soon as you whisper a word near him!

popsycalindisguise · 03/01/2006 12:37

looks gone to me, although there is a balack hoop inside of where i thikn it should be...
dh may have ripped it out of the box.
anyway
it is going back
so fingers crossed
thansk for all your help

there is the one switc with 3 settings - on, off and demo mode. Once the security tag is removed it should be set to "On" then works by pressing his nose.

QueSerahSerah · 03/01/2006 12:52

My brother sent me one of these for DS... you have to switch him on and squeeze his nose to activate him - then you do the clapping!

QueSerahSerah · 03/01/2006 12:52

You beat me to it Helsi

Clary · 03/01/2006 13:17

No (hate to disagree) you don't have to do anything to its nose.
That's when it's in demo mode, in the box (ie in the shop).
Once you unscrew it and remove security tag it just works when you talk to it.
Popsycal it sounds as though it has been ripped from its box. You had to actually get it out witha philips screwdriver, did dh do this?

QueSerahSerah · 03/01/2006 14:03

Just having a look at the box now - Clary may have a point if your DS ripped him out of the box - the instructions say to remove him with a phillips screwdriver to avoid damage...

But mine is definitely a nose squeezed activated tumbling tigger - says so on the instructions and it is the only way he starts to work. Then he becomes sound activated after the squeeze.

Clary · 03/01/2006 14:10

right back at ya serah!
(actually the one I have on my desk now has gone all silent. Think the battery may have stopped working)

QueSerahSerah · 03/01/2006 16:00

You just need to squeeze it's nose Clary

hercules · 03/01/2006 16:01

We got one that barely manages a half handstand. Need to take it back.

hercules · 03/01/2006 16:04

and you squeeze it's nose.

popsycalindisguise · 03/01/2006 16:20

dh has just pressed its nose.....
it is working
better email amazn back

QueSerahSerah · 03/01/2006 16:45

lol Popsy

Go on - what did you say to them???

Clary · 03/01/2006 16:54

you're right of course serah, I do need to do the nose! ave done it and yes it started working...
My recollection of the toy test we did was that it just went mad the moment anyone said anything!
Maybe the nose is just to spark it off and then it will work until left for a rest for a while - or turned off??
(feel really stupid now, my advice no use and for once I thought I did know what I was talking about )
