What about a keyboard. Argos had one from 30 down to 15 before xmas. Or an aquadraw.

Tomy Aquadraw? Toy buggy/pushchair? Shopping trolley?

the best use of the cash will be a toy pushchair. and not necessarily anything elaborate - we got a very simple buggy for about £6 which has been constantly played with by every child that has walked into the house for 7 years now. And the simple ones fold down so small you can chuck them in a suitcase when you go away, and they will then spend a happy week pushing their bucket and spade around in the pushchair on your summer holiday!

Otherwise a small toy kitchen is a good idea and doesn't have to be too enormous. Or if you haven't got room, stick with that theme and get a plastic tea set and also one of those shopping bags of vegetables that split in two and stick back together with velcro and can be chopped up with the knife that comes with them - hugely popular. ELC do them and so does toys r us.

PPH is a very wise woman and as usual I agree entirely with her post.

my 2 yr dd got a kitchen set from Argos - washing machine, cooker, kettle, toasterand microwave with assortment of pots and pans, cups etc. It's very compact and the washing machine etc only stand about12 inches high but they all workand the drum goes round in it and you can get the sound of the water etc. It cost £30 and is a 70 piece set I think. i was very impressed. Also the leapfrog shoppping trolley is really good. My dd is constantly scanning the various bits and bobs and pushing it round -s he loves it! Got mine second hand not sure how much they are in the shops.

no but it's true pph, you are one of a few people on here who always seem to post top-quality sense.
A kitchen, a pushchair, cut-up fruit and veg, all things which will be played with forever and will be well worth the money spent.
Too many crapola toys out there with no play value imho.
