does that make me an official mumsy mum??

I always swore I wouldn't thought they were for "old" people - but fed up of breaking my back and arms carry heavy bags of shopping in the cold from Morrisons so bought myself a nice little shopping trolley - its the flip-top one on this page - but it's in maroon/burgundy rather than that ghastly red.

Will my kids hate me for it when they're old enough to realise I'm dragging a shopping trolley behind me

How much are these trolly's/trollies/trollys [take your pick at the spellings]....
I couldn't find a price on your link..
feel free to ignore me if you think I'm being nosy.. and no I haven't changed my mind about them either

nutcracker · 29/12/2005 21:08

My mom has just brought a lightweight one from M&S and it's really not that bad. Black and folds up into a hand bag type thing.

HRHQueenOfQuelNoel · 29/12/2005 21:09

I got mine in a local hardware shop - family run place which I love shopping in so many lovely kitchen and 'home' things.

The ones in Argos start from £9.99 - the one in Argos most similar to mine here is £14.99 - but mine cost me £19.99 (and it was worth it not to have the 'check' pattern )

Mine's different to the one on the link, but cost £10.

Only a few more weeks and I can use the buggy instead. Maybe I could sell it - anyone interested?

moondog · 29/12/2005 21:12

lol at paying to avoid check pattern.
A wise move QoQ!!

HRHQueenOfQuelNoel · 29/12/2005 21:13

oh - and mines got a lovely 'padded' handle so more comfortable to push - and the wheels look sturdier on the (many) checked Argos trollies I've seen in town.

Jasnem · 29/12/2005 21:14

Just to make it clear, mine may be cheap, but is NOT checked, either (plain green).

HRHQueenOfQuelNoel · 29/12/2005 21:15

there's one in Argos for £10 too - but it's TINY - only really any good if you're 89 and live on your own

HRHQueenOfQuelNoel · 29/12/2005 21:17

anyhow - off to look after the old dears (well most of them are ) at work now.

moondog · 29/12/2005 21:17

Don't worry Jas-we won't see your name in 10 years' time and think 'Hmmm, there is that loser with the checked trolley posting again.'

I have seen Marsy's cow print trolley. It is cool. Can she carry it off though as the mad woman pushing a Marco Sky AND a cow-print trolley at the same time?

spruceylucy5 · 29/12/2005 21:20

You'd fit in in Spain. everyones got one, except me and they are souped up!

myrrhthamoo · 29/12/2005 21:22

Spacedonkey had one at least a year ago - very funky one. She posted a link and the one she has comes in a range of bright colours. I was sorely tempted.

stitch · 29/12/2005 21:45

i refuse to give up my pushchair. will have to get one of these realistic dolls to put into it when doing a big shop.
and all those trolleys are oap imo

Gingerbear · 29/12/2005 21:47

Rosler are the trendy ones -
hippy one
Spacedonkey's trolley saga was vvvv funny.

sickofturkeymoonfiend · 30/12/2005 10:58

can anyone provide me with a link to Rolster? Can't find owt on google. Not that I want a shopping trolley....honest....er....

daisy1999 · 30/12/2005 12:04

lol stitch I was going to suggest the same thing - even if someone noticed you were pushing a doll it would be less embarrasing than the dreaded trolley

itllbelonelythisdavros · 30/12/2005 19:29

Oh we've done this one before and they ARE trendy!! I saw some Orla Keily (sp?) ones in Fenwick on Bond St just before Xmas. They are a godsend so ner!

Gingerbear · 31/12/2005 11:03

sickofturkeymoonfiend, it is ROLSER not Rostler.
Rolser

A granny trolley?

Screwballmuppet · 31/12/2005 11:54

Ah bit to hasty, just seen the links.....I actually like the psychodelic one from rolser is it.

fullmoonfiend · 31/12/2005 16:57

I'm deffo having one - I'm cool enough (or eccentric) to get away with it! (we don't live in London so I probably will get my head kicked in by someone)
I'm getting one for all the reasons mentioned by others - I walk, I miss the buggy dreadfully, and guess who has to carry everything when we go on a picnic or outing . I was telling my mates I was going to find a plain black one and customise it - but couldn't find anything that wasn't (shudder) checked! Rock and Rolser!!!

itllbelonelythisdavros · 31/12/2005 18:30

Mine's a purple Rolser, a good few years old now, there's much nicer ones around but I like mine still.
