Do you have a stonking dishwasher?

Predictably, ours has just died. It's blown something electrical deep within, and trips the fuse on that circuit every time we try to switch it on. Only had it five years so not very happy about buying a new one but if it's an electrician job - well it wasn't that good anyway (Hotpoint) so time for a new one.

Done a search but need something up to date. Who can recommend me a great dishwasher, cheaper end, and are there any to avoid?

WE have an AEG that came with the kitchen. It has been used almost daily for six years and is still working fine

i have got the cheapest Bosch one (Classixx) - is v good. after two dishwashers dying on me i decided to go for the the best make i could afford even if it was the cheapest model they did. has 2 year guarentee too. would recommend.

By far the best dishwasher ive ever used is the one at my house

Unfortunatly its over 20 years old (and still washes PEREFECTLY today as it always has done!) (the only thing is that the rubber that keeps the powder / liquid 'in' is persished so we can only use tablets.

Its a hotpoint..... BUT the dishwasher where i work is also a hotpoint and by far the worst dishwasher ive ever used! Its not that old, but hardly ever cleans stuff properly and i HATE it!

We have a Miele and it honestly wasn't all that expensive, think it was an ex-display model, and think it was around £350. It has been absolutely fantastic, so much better than the more expensive Smeg we had previously.

MrsSpoon · 26/12/2005 11:45

Bargain sure this is either mine or very similar.

PruniStuffing · 26/12/2005 13:14

Thanks all - dh off now to Currys, no idea what he'll come back with but I advised him miele or bosch.

I have just done 2 days' washing up by hand...

But feel very virtuous.

Maybe too late, but we have had an AEG very quiet one for over 8 years and it has been in use at least daily without a problem. Having said that it will probably die tomorrow!

Blandmum · 26/12/2005 13:23

Our AEG is excellent as well....that said i'll have hexed it now!

never had one before, but this one is very good

PruniStuffing · 26/12/2005 13:24

We have a Fisher and Paykel dish drawer. I think in the UK they are sold under the whirlpool brand. Basically you get 2 drawers that act independently and it's fab.
