I think britax eclipse reclines more than maxicosi priori, does eclipse recline as much or more than freeway? Anyone know? and how hard is it to recline freeway?

We were looking for car seats last weekend. The thing with the Freeway is that you need to undo the seatbelt to recline it. Seemed like a faff to me!

We got the Priori. Very happy with it thus far (after 3 days use!)

thanks, we have got the priori which we are very happy with but I'm thinking of getting another car seat prob second hand for a long haul flight. The britax seats I mentioned are narrower than the maxi cosi and can be done up with a lapbelt. The freeway is a relatively light car seat. The recline thing seems a bit of a faff but less so when you are on aplane rather than in a car. Did you notice how the amount of recline on the freeway compares to the maxi cosi?
thanks for your reply!

I suppose on the plane it might not be so big a deal. In all honesty, Im not sure how much narrower the freeway is. We tried them all in the middle with highback and boosters on either side and there didn't seem to be much difference between them.

As far as I recall recline was similar on all 3. Perhaps freeway was a little less than the other 2. Not so much of an issue as we were buying for a 2.5 year old. Change of car dictating the need for new car seats...

i'm sure the eclipse reclines VERY SLIGHLTY more! and you dont have to undo the seat belt to do it

How old is your lo ? tbh We rarely use the recline on our Freeway just fixed it in one position or another in the car each time depending on age of child and type of journey. Having tried the Eclipse in a hire car I'd say the seat on the Freeway was slightly larger but base about the same. It isn't hard to recline the Freeway - the lever is under the seat front, but you should loosen the retaining car belt and retighten it after adjusting the seat position.

just make sure you never have sick to wash off it because it is a pig to get the straps off
