Leappads for 21 month olds?

To my surprise DS seemed to rather enjoy playing about with the 4+ My First Leappad thing in Waterstones yesterday. So what do you lot think - go for that, or for the baby 6-36 month version? btw DS isn't in anyway advanced in terms of language/comprehension.

DD has got the baby one (6-36 months), she got it last Christmas, and is really only just getting to grips with it now (30 months) on the second setting.

I considered getting the older one at the time, as she had played with friend's and loved it, but she does seem to be much more suited to the younger one now. I can see it lasting for quite a while yet until she gets bored of it.

Sooo... I would say the younger one. Its much easier for them to do alone as they don't have to try to control a pen, and it has simple tasks aimed at them.

No, Id stick with the littletouch one, the 6-36 months.

The littletouch will last for ages

feastofsteven · 11/12/2005 10:24

btw do you end up shelling out on extra books at all?

There aren't all that many books for the little touch one (or there weren't last year), so we got most of them at the time we got the main pad, and have bought nothing else since.

they have some in Woolworth too as we bought one for my SD a couple years ago and she loves it

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 11/12/2005 10:36

here are some in Woolies but cannot see the spare books BUT it mentions about the £15 discount.. enquire about that

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 11/12/2005 10:40

actually.. there are a few books for your little one - Thomas the tank engine, Dora, Learning your ABC...

feastofsteven · 11/12/2005 10:40

Thanks for the link, BL. The prices they quote already include a discount (they are throwing in extra books and stuff*

YG - are the cheap books just for the 4+ one, rather than the baby one??

OP posts:
feastofsteven · 11/12/2005 12:12

amazon seems to be cheapest for the various leappads -

£25 for First Touch baby Leappad
£16.99 for 3+ My First Leappad
£20 for 4+ Leappad
