Afordable, reliable waterproof mattress cover

Where can I get one from? I have two small waterproof mats which I currently alternate between on ds' bed, but they always move out of place and inevitably the leak or accident happens once it's shifted down the bed so I'm looking for one that fits the whole bed. I have seen some in the argos catalog, but are they a good enough quality, ie. waterproof and breathable, & fit properly? Is there somewhere else that sells good ones at a good price? TIA

Wilkinsons do one fo about £3!, tho not sure if its breathable, but it is made of a niceish sheet thing rather than a simple piece of plastic.

dd2 one is from john lewis, it is terry topped, and very good, think it may have been between 10-20pounds.

Richleys do a terry towelling topped one. Seem to remember it being around £10-12. It can be tumble dried too

La Redoute - search for "flat mattress protectors" in Interieurs. They have elastic corners, flannelette top and PVC bottom and you can wash at up to 95 and tumble dry them endlessly - £13 but very good value

As soon as I saw this thread I leapt on to suggest La Redoute only to find Janh beat me to it!

Agree with her, they are great - loads of types and sizes to choose from - even a size for the slightly narrower bunk/cabin mattresses. I have them for the childrens beds and they're excellent value.

I was about to suggest Dunhelm but... just toke mine out of the washing machine to see that the plastic part has peeled off. Anyways, it was not really confortable, it got DS all sweaty (needed to use a towel between the sheets and the protector)

Great, thanks for the comments. Will checkout laredroute.

Not any of those, 99rb - hang on and I will get the right description for you.

  1. Flat mattress protectors - length 190 cm - treated
Pure cotton flannelette. Comfortable (brushed on both sides) and strong (2 x 2 woven threads). Washable at 95°C for complete hygiene. With 4 elasticated corners. PVC-coated, waterproof with SANITIZED... (See the product) Price : From £ 13

also

  1. Flat mattress protector Elasticated corners 450g/m2. Waterproof PVC coated towelling with BIO-PRUF treatment (anti-bacterial). Price : From £ 11

Doh! If only I'd read your first search suggestion properly I would have noticed "flat" and not "fitted! Found them straight away this time.
