I know, I went into town yesterday intending to buy a couple of them for recently married nieces and nephews and quickly changed my mind! It feels nice and heavy and I imagine it works ok but blimey, £20 for a fairly gimmicky thing is far too much.

MrsSpoon · 09/12/2005 22:49

I thought it was a piece of nonsense but after seeing it demonstrated at the Good Food Show I am converted and have one on my shopping list. Still not sure about the £20 price tag though.

WeWhizzzYouAMerryXmas · 09/12/2005 22:52

Can't you just do the same with an Anywayup Cup & golf ball ???

AChristmasCarolinamoon · 09/12/2005 22:52

why not just buy a pestle and mortar though? I don't get it meself...

AChristmasCarolinamoon · 09/12/2005 22:53

lol Whizz

MrsSpoon · 09/12/2005 22:59

I've got a pestle & morter but can't resist another gadget.

puff · 09/12/2005 23:08

I want to try it before I buy it

it came out really badly on recent consumer tests, don't buy it! Not worth the £20 apparently.

Sleighmenere · 10/12/2005 09:22

How on earth can this gadget work more effectively or conveniently than a pestle and mortar or a hand blender? And how quickly do you think that ball thing will get lost? It's a fad with very little lasting value and not worth £20. And I'm someone who loves kitchen gadgets and Jamie Oliver but I wouldn't buy this.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 10/12/2005 09:54

You can't get the lid off an anyway up cup though.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 10/12/2005 09:55

I think it would be more effective than a pestle and mortar because the shaking action mixes everything up. I wouldn't say it makes it worth £20 though.

Hulababy · 10/12/2005 10:01

I have bought it for my sister for Christmas. Fancy one myself. Seen it used in a demo and it does look good and definitely more efficient that a pestle and mortar. My sister loves cooking and funky gadgets - so ideal.

Enideepmidwinter · 10/12/2005 10:25

noddyholder · 10/12/2005 10:28

Hulababy · 10/12/2005 10:37

Here

LIZS · 10/12/2005 10:41

Thought I saw it advertised for £16 somewhere ...

WickedWinterWitch · 10/12/2005 11:52

Thanks hula, I wouldn't pay £20 for it, no way. I use a pestle and mortar and/or a spoon.

MistleToo · 10/12/2005 12:05

isn't it one of those things that end up gathering dust?

hornbag · 10/12/2005 12:14

-definately!
You'll see them at car boot sales up and down the country in years to come!

Frostythesurfmum · 10/12/2005 12:17

Sleighmenere · 10/12/2005 12:51

Yes but they will have lost their balls - miraculously transforming them into v expensive jam jars
