Baby born - know much about it?

Dd was given baby born for xmas 3 years ago. She hardly played with her and we packed her off to oxfam 1 year later. She has now put baby born on her list to santa !Dd told me that Baby born is different and does lots of things now. As bb is £30 I am a bit reluctant to buy her until I am sure she will be interested this time.
Does anyone know how bb has changed? Dd is just 7 and I thought she would not like baby dolls anymore as she was never that interested , but OTH I don't want her to be disappointed.
Any experts?

DD is 7 and asked for one last year, she cries and poos (the pooing is really difficult though and a damn mess!)

Baby Born reduced to £29.99 from £33.99 in Argos at moment.

Thanks for the replies . I do not want to buy it tbh!!
There is a 2nd hand one in the paper that is in perfect condition(or so they say ) and it includes the pushchair for £20 but it is 3 years old, so the same as the one she had. I think that she wants the new one, B**y advertising, ds is 2 and it is great fun choosing his presents.

I will talk to her when she gets home from school and maybe point out the fact that MIl has asked why she wants another one. They shelled out for it when I was pregnant with ds

My DD had one for Xmas about two years ago and we threw out the 'food' that makes her poo, and DD doesn't even know that she can wee either.

Hmmmm I sound really stingy in my post... but we are!We are so skint and I don't want to buy her something that she will like when the adverts are not on the telly anymore

After talking to dd it turns out she only wanted bb because it cries. Anyone have any alternatives that cry but do not pooh..

To think that I used to have a life

I might be totally out of date, but a couple of years ago dd had a much better doll from ELC that made really realistic sounds in response to a spoon (yumyum) toy (laugh) thermometer (sneeze) as well as crying and cooing - similar price.

baby annabelle doesnt poo. at least , the one DD has doesnt. She got it about 18 montsh ago. It cries and sucks its dummy

colette · 09/12/2005 17:16

Baby Born fan here. Baby Annabel & Baby Chou-Chou have completely witless expressions, while BB looks mildly amused.
