realise this sounds daft but can't find any decent but not too expensive - cotton jersey pjs for DS (2) - tried John Lewis, Mothercare, Boden, White COmpany - either too small, horrid design or too expensive £28 for one pair!

any ideas?

Would these be any good?

I was going to recommend those too, tamum - good job I looked at your link first! They were still Kids Stuff when my own kids were small and we used to buy them all the time. (Their towelling ones were best though - like Osh-Kosh dungarees they would last through 5 or 6 kids - not all mine , they used to get passed on and then back.)

I know exactly what you mean. I have to admit to buying just buying a pair of boden ones at £20-odd a pop. It's way more than I spend on any other item of clothing but they probably get more wear to be honest (only have about 4 pairs of pjs in total). Pj designs are usually just hideous.

Also have boots ones, white company (sale I think) and I think toys r us. H&M do some nice-ish ones at an OK price but they size them 2-4 years which makes the trousers WAY too long for my dd.

I never saw towelling ones, janh, but my children have had these PJs ever since they were out of babygros, pretty much. They're quite hard-wearing, and they like choosing the patterns. They were Kids Stuff when my ds was small, too

No, tamum, they don't seem to do the towelling ones any more. Mind you they didn't do the lovely patterns back then - only spots and stripes IIRC. The patterns are great!

ta. I like those tamum.

By jersey do you mean t-shirt type material? If so, Primark do excellent really cheap ones. I just got some nice bob the builder ones at Asda's and I got loads last year at Tesco's.

I like the GLTC ones but £18 a pair!! I've always bought multi-packs from M&S. I think about £12 for 2. They do summer ones and winter ones although haven't been to get any yet this year.

janh · 19/10/2003 11:09

They are very sturdy though - assuming they're the same as they used to be - much thicker fabric than the average and proper ribbing on cuffs which doesn't stretch flat after a few washes. And cute designs. Kids Stuff also used to do matching ones for teddies but it doesn't look as if GLTC do .

tamum · 19/10/2003 11:12

Janh, I think we must be twins separated at birth I was about to say the same thing, they're much thicker and more densely woven than most, and would certainly see a couple of children out if you want to hand them down. I was sad to see they've dropped the teddy clothes too!

JoJomamanbebe is worth a look too.

Another vote for ASDA, two pairs for £5 and in our experience they last really well.
