Hi

I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on these. I quite like the quest but also like the techno but am not sure if it is really worth the extra money?

Thanks

LizC for a "cheapie" (although it isn't really once you've bought the accessory pack!) I really wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Volo - I only wish the seat would go back so it was suitable from birth then it would be my dream pushchair! The breaks do suck though like the other Maclarens - I hope they will address this soon in newer models. Perhaps we need a mumsnet petition to the manufacturers?!

Funnily enough, I've always got on okay (not brilliantly, but okay) with the raincover on the Volo - but then the other raincovers I've owned for other pushchairs were no easier and one was a lot harder (the mothercare own brand one again) so I've lived with it.

Did find a disadvantage of it being so light though - you have to remember to take shopping off the handles before removing child from it otherwise the buggy tips over

Things I need from new pushchair: from birth, comfy but ultra light, small and compact when folded, easy folding mechanism, separate handles (so you can hang shopping on them), accessible under-buggy basket, not too expensive, easy to use breaks, free flying pigs included...

I don't think umbrella-type buggies are any good for newborns, there's another thread about this somewhere, I think the title's something to do with travel systems. I've got a Mamas & Papas something -or-other, £50 second hand from local paper. VERY comfy, perfect for newborn with all accessories. IMHO I would implore anyone wanting a pushchair for a newborn to try to get a "proper" one with pram/carrycot/bed part but quite understand about cost implications. Also try Ebay as well as Kiddicare.com.

I brought a techno not long ago and the brakes were terrible, so I took it back to the shop and he replaced the whole pushchair for me. Apparantly they had a batch with bad brakes and they have now modified them.

This new one is fine and the brakes work well. I also find it easy to fold and the rain cover is easy to clip on. It also folds flat and seems very comfy.
