Jane Matrix car seat

Hi,
Ds is now 6 months and is too big for this car seat in the lie flat position. We've altered the car seat into its upright position but it's a total nightmare to fit ( seat belts are only just long enough) and it's really difficult getting ds in and out of it.
Does anybody have some suggestions for this car seat? Ds is 18lbs so we're hoping to get him a second stage car seat at Christmas but what do we do till then? Any other ideas?
Thanks.

Nursie, we were in the same boat - when DD got too big for the lie flat we tried the sit up position, but it was neither easy to fit or comfortable for her as a 95th centile bundle. We graduated to a Britax Duo Isofix earlier than we had expected we'd need to. The Matrix is BRILLIANT in its lie-down configuration, but probably only good for skinny little ones when sitting up. Sorry, can't help other than to agrere with you.

Yep, we had the same problem. DD is tiny so stayed lying flat till 5 months. Then she wanted to sit up but we found the Matrix in upright mode was really hard to fit, and also very very upright. Getting her in and out was ok (shes a 2nd centile bundle!) but was uncomfortable (kept slumping forward) and if the carseat got knocked it took an hour to fit it again.
So we got a 2nd stage carseat that fits both ways (Bebe Confort Iseos). She stayed in that facing backwards until she was 16 months (and weighing 19 lbs!).
My only suggestion is beg / borrow a normal infant car seat from a friend for 2 months... Someone you know must have one in their loft!
