cod, they'll be fine for a party. It's only if you're listening to cello sonatas etc in an absolutely silent house that they start sounding a bit woolly.

Kelly - stuff like this or this .

Depending on the product you can hide the thickness to varying degrees of success. Under the carpet it's a winner. On walls, you can see it if you know what you're looking for, or where the wire run is, but it is very very thin.

HTH

Thanks, that looks really good. I can't find any on UK sites, will have to search a bit more later. Is the sound quality really good tho? Our stereo is a good one, and I don't want to lose sound quality.

In theory, for the most faithful reproduction, you want low-resistance (ie. thick) cables. TBH, much of the (admittedly mainly male) obsession with speaker cable is tosh. Get something decent, but you don't need gold plated, oxygen free, uni-directional, plaitted cables blessed by the Dalai Lama (although doubtless it might make your music sound that teensiest bit better, LOL).

The flat cable does come in different 'equivalent ratings' (thicknesses), but I bet even then cheapest and thinnest won't pose a problem for normal hifi and normal speakers. If you're driving a particularly tricky load, or have a particularly powerful amp, find a specialist one which is a tiny bit heavier / thicker... it'll still do the trick though.

You can find it in the UK, I haven't bought any recently though, sorry.

I don't know abotu all that.

I'll have a look around, thanks. Ours has a bi amp or something, and so there are four wires going to each front speaker. So I don't know if I can do anything about that, but it might be worth gettign soem at least for the rear speakers, rather than seeing wire snaking up to the ceiling.

Lovely, biamped speakers. You would just double up on the flat ribbon then - two lengths to each speaker IYSWIM...
