Heard Julie Andrews on radio earlier doing plug for new dvd where you can sing along. I believe it is this one. Does anyone know if the 'sing along' element is an added extra or is it impossible to watch the film normally. Would I be better off buying this special edition ?
TIA

well... my mum is a SoM addict.. it's her fave film and she doesn't like the 2 disc one, because it has an intermission in it! lol

I think the sing-along bit is just an extra... but might be worth checking it out in a shop to make sure? it'll proba ly say on the back

top film. You won't need the singalong version as dear Julie's voice is as clear as a bell so you'll pick up the words very quickly!

ps if you are anywhere near London, the Prince Charles cinema in Leicester Square used to do a sing along version - very funny night out as people go in fancy dress. There were at least 3 "hills-which-were-alive" when I went, and a whole troop in green brocade (lost count of the number of nuns)...there's a website somewhere, plus you could drink in the cinema

crumpet, you're right. The lyrics are incredibly easy to remember. I know them but I thought it might be fun for the children - and for my less cultured friends.
