Furball · 30/11/2005 21:15

Did you read this bit in one of my links

I use nads and it does work. However you have to exfoliate an hour before and the hair has to be a certain length.

Oh gawd NO!!!

A hundred different horror stories.

The worst my best friend, who called me during her NADS crisis - plastered all over her arm and too painful to remove.

Luckily my waxer slipped her in as I was a long-time client. We got to the salon waiting room and the first thing the receptionsist said was, 'Let me guess, NADS?'

Forget about it! See a professional!

Milliways · 30/11/2005 21:38

I tried this - useless! Went back to epilator with joy

MrsSpoon · 30/11/2005 21:44

LOL, I thought this was a B,C & S situation!

I haven't tried NADS but did try some Veet wax strips (you heat them up between your hands before applying) and it wasn't worth the pain or effort.

Is an epilator painful?

Milliways · 30/11/2005 21:46

TBH it was the first time, got easier & now I don't feel it. Can pull hairs out individually with nails quite easily - they become weakened.

MrsSpoon · 30/11/2005 21:50

Thanks Milliways, I am considering purchasing one as I am scared of waxing and fed up of shaving.

Milliways · 30/11/2005 22:00

If you pull your skin taught whilst doing it, it prickles for a bit after (like waxing) but you can practice on a small bit at a time. Get one with a "starter" head.

I think this stuff rocks, especially for bikini line, which I would never dare bare in a salon unwaxed . It's really expensive in the UK; if you know anyone going to Australia, get them to bring some back.

The key seems to be to put really smooth the cotton strips down for a while. These strips were a PITA so I used a larger piece of cotton
(actually I used a pillowcase cos it washes off....that kind of sums up the extent of my bikini line difficulties, ahem )

Great results; honeymooned for three weeks with no regrowth

I just can't get this stuff to work for me either. I've tried all over just to see but no luck.

However it does work on my husband and my mum (my poor guinea pigs) so I doubt it's anything I'm doing wrong.

I guess it just dosen't suit my skin.

I now just use it once a month to shape my mum's brows and the tub is going to last a lifetime...
