Mains lead for ELC CD player?

Trying to get a mains lead for ELC CD player as I'm guessing it will eat batteries. Box says it has a DC jack (wha?) and requires a 9v 700mA adapter. Not having much luck googling for this partly because I've no idea what it means - can anyone help?

I think ELC sell them for a fiver (we have the older ELC CD player and that's what we use).

HTH

Hiya - you should be able to get one in argos - it\ll just be the big black square type plug.

Hi - yes after talking to my 'wired' DH - Argos should have a multi-voltage power adapter for the CD player (their site is too busy at the moment to search!!!). Dixons and Curry's also do them - they have variable settings which you change with small dials on the 'big black plug' (check b4 you buy) - or depending how brave you are, the Maplins chain of stores definitely sell them but you can feel out of place in there without your soldering iron!

Bumping this as have been all over the internet looking - it must be a bog standard product. If anyone can find me something suitable and do a link I should be very grateful.

Basically a box that converts 240Volts AC (mains) to dc low volts. (like your car).
9v is nice and low.

LOADS of places sell these kinda things.
Woolies, Argos, Maplins etc etc. £5 should be enough

The only thing is be wary of a funny sized jack.

You can buy adaptors that have lots of different fittings to fit a wide range of items and these only cost a coupleof quid more. Worth it for sure. Good luck

In fact here's one

Mistymoo · 16/12/2005 17:28

OOPs.
That last one output current is too low (although it probably would work)....

Try THIS ONE instead

Roobietherednosedreindeer · 16/12/2005 17:28

I think I'll have to go in somewhere rather than buying online - the CD player box says 700mAh output which seems to be either non-existant or hard to find ... for instance your link says 500mah maximum. I'm probably being a bit thick.
Thanks for the advice!
