Dh wants to send a hamper of goodies to his db this christmas. Any ideas of some nice places to look....don't want the 'tinned ham' type, he is a very nice guy, but a bit of a foodie.

Want to spendabout £40

If he lives in the North West I can highly recommend the food of northern harvest , although no idea about presentation of their hampers

Looks totaly fab, and just the sort of thing we were think of, sadly he doesn't live in the area!

If you have the time, quite nice to make your own hamper? Easy enough to get pleasant container and fill up with specific things for the individual? Esp if you have £40 to play with..
I have just completed one for my bil and sil, used a big stainless steel bucket (looked nice and cheap from garden centre). Filled it with lots of different jars of olives, posh dried pasta, posh italian sauce, cute little tins of anchovies, anti pasta dried porcini mushrooms etc etc and put in a pasta server metal spoon, bottle of good Chianti and pair of wine glasses in the top to finish it off. It looks really really good (even if I say so myself!) and cost about £40.
Gonna do a baking one for my niece with child?s rolling pin, cutters, pinny, some handwritten recipe cards for gingerbread men, muffins and maybe choc chip cookies with the ingrediants. Think it should look good - just need to come up with an imaginative container...
Getting to be a hamper junkie as they are such good fun buying a small collection of smaller gifts to combine into one. A bit time consuming but most people like the thought.

Hmmmm, that would end up as me doing it and it is my dBIL!

I would also have to sort packing and posting the darned thing. The idea is that this should be stress free for me
