Anyone bought prescriprion swimming goggles recently?

I need to buy some prescription goggles but my local optician wants £60+. I wondered if anyone has bought them at a better price recently or could recommend a particular make?

what prescription are you?, as in + or -

ime it's easier to find - ones online, harder to find +, but not impossible. my dd's are +5, think they were about £30.

also, is the £60 price for ones made up specifically to your prescription or ones to the nearest whole number?

Hmm, exact prescription I'm asuming - 3.5 plus slight astigmatism. Not sure if nearest whole number would give me a blinding headache?

right. dd used to go to the hospital for all her eye tests until recently, so i asked the advice of the specialist there. don't know offhand what dd's full prescription is but it's roughlt a +5 in one eye, +6 in the other plus she has astigmatism, a squint and has double vision without her glasses. we were told to go for a +5 for her goggles, she said nearest whole number and go down, although i think for a - prescription, the do go in 0.5 incriments, it's the + that only does whole numbers. anyway, we went for a brand called gator as they do spare parts and you can replace the eye rubbers, strap etc should it perish.

gator they're about £30, the lenses are quite tinted, but dd likes them like that as the pool she has lessons in is really bright.

these speedo ones are only £18, currently out of stock in a -3.5 but at least they do do it.
