dd1 plays mostly with paint and crayons, cutting and sticking with glue and sellotape, and she is mad on jigsaws, i havent a clue what to get her, dh has suggested dolls house or baby annabel, she has a little people house but doesnt really like it all that much (the idea of dolls etc) except in summer when she plays with them all in the garden and wendy house

dd2 has all dd1's old toys to play with! help!

Farmyard set with animals. Quite expensive at circa £45, but quite good joint present? (GLTC and ELC)

MIL is getting this as joint gift for 3 yr old dd and 19 month old ds

nailpolish · 23/11/2005 11:34

oh i hadnt thought about something joint. dd1 is actually quite good at sharing

"sharing is fun isnt it mummy!"

i has also thought maybe i could get a jigsaw made of a picture she really likes of dd1 and wee sis, would that be a crap idea?

might get the little people farm to match her dolls house

That's a lovely idea...

Feistybird · 23/11/2005 11:36

if DD1 likes paint and crayons, what about a Megasketcher - my DD had one at that age and she still plays with it now 2 yrs later, to the point where we're upgrading to a luminosketcher this year (whatever that is!)

oliveoil · 23/11/2005 11:37

mine are the same age and are getting:

dd1: books, play doh
dd2: cuddly toy with buttons etc on it

Plus stocking each with bits in.

They will get tons from family so we are being stingy! Also it was dd1's birthday last month so she has tons of Barbie crap from then.

My two fight like cat and dog, at your two sharing.

nailpolish · 23/11/2005 11:40

OO, im the same, BOTH had their birthdays last month so new toy novelty is still there

i worry about being stingy, which is stupid i know, we are skint and i like the idea of a joint thing, and again like you they will get tons from family

books are always a great idea, just put them on the list..

I'd say get more Little People for your little one - ds became so much more interested once dd started to play with it too. There are also an animal park, nursery school, castle and various car sets (we have a pink people carrier and yellow school bus) which may appeal. You could also get matching Baby Annabels - the Entertainer had the My First one on offer at £7.50 earlier this week.

LOADS of ideas, thanks everyone, keep them coming!

good old mn

handlemecarefully · 23/11/2005 11:45

here is farmyard, it has been price slashed!

handlemecarefully · 23/11/2005 11:46

I like the little people sets - train one is good

LIZS · 23/11/2005 12:59

OO, have a look here for a selection , also in Woolies and other toy shops. Used to be called Play Family in UK and has been going for yonks!

nailpolish · 23/11/2005 13:22

i cant decide between these 2 farmyards hmc! i suppose the £30 one is better..

only £30 seems like a bargain, thank you v much x
