Baby shoes that stay put!

Can anyone suggest baby shoes that my 11 month old can't pull off? He's not walking yet, but just needs something to keep his feet warm. I think putting him in tights may give him a complex ...

These leather ones are supposed to be good.

LIZS · 03/10/2003 11:23

try Daisy Roots which are pretty similar to WSM's recommendation. dd had 2 pairs and the ones with elastic around ankle stayed put better than the ballerina pumps.(www.daisyroots.co.uk) or ds had Padders from JLP and Debenhams.

I second WSM. Thel sluglet is still wearing those even though her normal means of transportation these days is a fast trot. You can buy them direct from here

That must be where I went wrong Detta - my boys all wore tights under their trousers when they continually pulled their socks off when it was cold. Eldest ds is 16 years old now and has lots of 'issues'. None of them related to gender mind you
The shoes on the link look lovely but if they are expensive I would go with the tights

Yes, and like slug's Bobux, there are also Robeez, which you can buy from here

Here's my favourite, Inch Blue.

Mine's got some tights... so far, so good. DH thinks it's a bit strange but he's being outvoted.

I bought some little sheepskin ones for when DS sits in his buggy. Got them in Italy when I was PG and then again when we went in the summer. So not much help with where to get them from but you might find some at a craft fair.

Clarks do a range of shoes called crawlers - all very soft. Our dd was a nightmare for keeping them on and she loves them. They are expertly fitted and we got a photo of her first shoes on and book about keeping their feet healthy etc. The shoes are not cheap but she wears them everyday to nursery and they are standing up well to the wear and tear of her crawling around and digging the toes in everywhere. The shop assistant was very very helpful.

they also do cruising and first walking shoes too ... but we are at the crawling stage.

Would definitely go for the Star Child style
shoes as already mentioned. My 1 year old dd has had 2 pairs both bought as presents as we would not be able to afford them. They are expensive but as your ds is nearly 1 perhaps you could ask for a pair for his birthday? They do work and are very cute.

Dd2 has just managed to pull her Bobux shoes off. Repeatedly. Soddit.

aloha · 08/10/2003 10:02

I have two single baby shoes tucked away somewhere (memo to self: chuck them out) after ds pulled the other one off and dropped it while we were out. Was gutted as rather expensive and cute.
