OK sorry for very dull question about tumble dryers - what is energy consumption measured in?

And how do I decide which one will use the least electricity?

I thought A was the most energy efficient rating, but when I looked at "energy consumption" they all use around 4. (4 what? No idea.) Then when I look at C energy rating, they use around 3.3, 3.5 etc, sounding like that's er... lower?

Am being very thick but have googled and asked Jeeves and I still don't know how to assess energy efficiency on these things.

Kilowatts per hour I should imagine. Will try and google and find out

yes it is

Caligula · 08/11/2005 23:48

But how can a grade C energy rated dryer use fewer kilowatts per hour than a grade A one?

Anyone know?

No idea sorry!

All relative, the lower the rating, the lower the power rating, the cheaper to run, BUT the slower it drys your cloths!
