Where do you sell bigger baby items?

I need to sell some of my used baby stuff but it is thebigger stuff and I am not sure if youcan, where to and how much they are likely to sell for. Not sure ebay is any good because of heavy items/postage, etc. Paryticualrly unsure of where ot sell car seats.

We have

  • a 3 wheeler ATP, good condition, modern, very light compared to similar products, European make (Tork), was quite expensive (£350 plus) to buy.

  • A Maclaren Volo in pretty good nick, in black. Was £50 new

  • A maxi cosi citi car stage, first stage. Never been in accident, great condition

  • Isofix Britax duo car seat; £180 new. Great condition.

So where do you sell?
And how much do you ask?

Tnanks.

I sold our big items in the local paper.

(can't you keep them for the next one? Are you not TTc anymore)

Ebay for local collection?

Hulababy · 07/11/2005 09:28

Not TTC anymore, hence now selling.

Will have a look into local paper, etc. Not figured all this stuff out in this new area yet.

I solld our double buggy for about £90 in the paper and i think they charge your dependinng on the size of the advert.

selling all this probably means you'll concieve as soon as the last item is sold.

How about putting a card up in your local Tesco, Sainsbury's, etc.? I always stop by the notice board on my way out to see if there's anything good for sale.

Hulababy · 07/11/2005 09:38

Going to supermarket later so will look into that idea. Also got to go and pay papers so will look at newsagents.

Off to Hobbytime now (attempt to meet new people in area ) and may ask around there too.

The NCT sales are good for this. In the sales I have been to, although there are always loads of clothes left over, most of the larger equipment such as you describe gets sold.

Also, although the NCT takes 25% commission for items selling for up to £5, for more expensive items, it usually just takes a set fee, in the case of the branch where I sold my big stuff, it was £5 per item. I sold a double buggy for £50, play pen for £40, car seat for £10/15, back carrier (partially broken) for £10, various stairgates for £10/15, baby bath for £5 etc.

You could look on the NCT website to find out if there was a sale near you soon.
