Put felt pads under your chair legs

Bliss.

Bought some small stick-on, quite thick, felt pads last year.

Today was to be their big day.

I can now push away from the table without that scraping noise and without inducing vibration into the chair frame.

This is my tip of the day.

Only a little bit. Have confined myself to the house (dodgy chest). Yawn.

But I thought this should be shared as that noise is sooooooooo horrible, and we've lived with it for soooooooooo long, and the cure only took 5 minutes and works an absolute treat.

Hi Hub . Yes, they are great. We have had new dining room funiture this week and they were the first things to go on. Makes life a hundred times easier.

Hope you are feeling better soon BTW.

I am glad my tip of the day resonates with you too, Bagpuss.

You must be very organised to do it so promptly, LOL.

good tip
I must do that as my desk chair even scrapes on the Jarrah floor boards ( jarrah is an extremely hard Australian dark wood)

hub2dee · 30/10/2005 13:02

jarrah is a gorgeous wood. You can buy jarrah sleepers sometimes in the UK. They weigh a bl**dy tonne, LOL.

my dh can't knock nails in to our jarrah window frames, the poof.

Love our jarrah floorboards, it is my life's work to rip up MIL's orange carpet in the rest of the house to reveal their splendour

hub2dee · 30/10/2005 13:49

LOL, suzy. Why don't you try it, ya big girl's blouse ?

(It is a very dense wood).
