Ok, I have a Quinny Buzz. I love it...gets lots of second glances and comments
It comes in three colours in the UK but loads of colours in Europe. We went to look at the colours when we were on holiday in France, then ordered one from a company called "fokkodio" or something on ebay (based in Holland). It was the same price at the time, but has since been reduced - I think they are £247 now. Arrived four days later, no problems.
In my opinion, all the colours are suitable for either boy/girl. However, a few of the colours are very nice indeed - namely the "blue mist reflection" (I've got that one) and the purple one (can't remember the name but it's the colour of a Cadbury's wrapper!)
Folding - no, you don't have to take the seat off, but it does need to be facing outwards before you fold it, which, at 10 months, would probably be your child's preferred direction anyway - my 4 month old is still facing me, so I take the seat off to fold it, that's my choice - and it's no bother, really simple.
It doesn't fold especially flat unless you take the seat off.
The no basket thing - it does have a "buzz bag" on the bottom, which is actually quite roomy, but no, you can't get loads of shopping in it (to give you an idea, I got the raincover, pump, one bag of groceries and two pizza bases into it the other day (pizza bases hanging out!!). I did buy some clips like the ones you describe before the baby was born, but the first time I used them, they fell off, so I didn't bother again.
One of the advantages of this pushchair is that the handle is height-adjustable. It really does go very high and low, which I find useful for my husband, but also for going up/downhill. Also, the hood doubles as a sunshade because it can be moved across 180 degrees according to where the sun is (which is just as well, cos I can't get a parasol to fit my buzz)
On the flip side, the base is very wide. Sometimes have to open both double doors to get into restaurants but never found anywhere I couldn't steer it, and it's not as long as some 3-wheelers so not so obtrusive.
