Computer keyboard for babies/toddlers

Ok - mumsetters - your next mission....
I'm looking for one of those computer keyboards which fastens over your existing keyboard. It has bright buttons/dials etc and comes with a CD Rom so your baby/toddler can bash the keyboard and see the results on screen. I saw one ages ago in a baby magazine and have done loads of internet searches but can't find anything now. I thought it was Fisher Price, but their site isn't working at the mo.

Please help before my space bar is disintegrated

Seems to be a variety of types available.

Try this google search for a few choices.

I've seen them in Toys R us quite recently too. I think they were about £30.

Thanks for reminding me aswell as with Xmas coming and DS2 desparately trying to contribute to my Mumsnet posts I think one of those will be ideal.

My Ds has the fisher price one.He loves it but there is a small prob (& I don't know if it is just me) but some of the keys don't match up right so he presses a button & nothing happens. you look underneath &it is hitting the wrong key.

eg the MN button on kids bit presses the f on meyboard, but nothing happens . if you press the g on keyboard then you get the MN button working IYSWIM.

It's as if they have programmed software to the wrong keys. But other than that he loves it & there are 3 different levels of play so will last a while

We have The Baby Keyboard which has 4 big shaped buttoes, as well as arrow keys and a parent button. It fits over the top of a normal keyboard. It comes with 3 different CDs are varying difficulty, aimed at 12-36 months. This one is made by Berchet Media, I think it is a French make. 17mo DD really likes it - she got it a Christmas. We got ours from Toys R Us.

we didn't buy a keyboard - we bought a baby cd rom called babywow - the child uses your computer keyboard but the programme is geared so that they can see the results when they push the buttons - so if you don't mind them playing on the computer its great- i think it is on the website www.pctots.com and you get a great lullaby cd free with your order

Thanks everyone. Have checked out some of your suggestions. I think the Berchet one is the one I've seen. However, they all seem to be PC only and we have a Mac. And so the search goes on.....

bobsmum, try here

There are various options and I haven't looked at them all. Little Fingers might be ok, don't think it goes over existing keyboard but can be used alongside - and is available in Mac format.

I just open up a Word document, turn the font size to the biggest it will go and let my 9 month old bash away at our keyboard! Not quite sure what lasting damage she's doing to it though as you say . . .

Grandparents gave DS a super one called...this desk is an utter tip...can't find the cd cases, but the keyboard has 'berchet media' printed on it, and the characters in the games (3 CDs) are a dog called Oyo and a frog called Nax. I'm sure you'ld be able to find it through google.

Oh, I just saw that Claireandrich also has this one! DS is 3 and still loves it.

I was trying to buy this CD Rom from PCTOTS. Unfortunately they haven't sent out the product nor are they answering their phone or react to e-mails or phone messages. So I am wondering how genuine they are. It does sound like such a great product and I can't get my hands on it.
