Any of the Orchard toy games are great - esp Incy Wincy Spider and the Shopping list game (d dd played and played these), they both have won awards - all the Orchard Toy games are great and have some sort of educational value iyswim (but are fun too!)

An Orchard Toys game that my 4 yaer old DD loves is "party, Party,Party". Unlike their other games it has minimla educational value but DD and her mates love its girliness.

ORchard games are brilliant, we have about 6 of them. 'Shopping list' is a good one, so is 'Walk the plank'.

Another vote for Insey Winsey Spider (or anything from Orchard Toys)

Can you buy the orchard toy games in the shops or do you have to get them online?

Ds loves Craniim Cariboo, hungry hippos and Guess Who ATM

There is a v gd Orchard Toys game based on Noah's Ark but I can't remember if thats what its called-gd for 4-6 yr olds and not too dull for grown ups. I also second the shopping list game and picture dominoes.

can't fault orchard toys and well priced too. Tummy Ache is the current fave. I think the ones like washing machine that can involve tactics probably come into their own at a later date although ds (4) enjoys it now

notasheep · 21/10/2005 21:55

Orchard toys are the best!
Our favourite is Knickerbocker Glory, even Grandpy enjoys playing it!

hewlettsdaughter · 22/10/2005 08:23

They have Orchard toys in our local toy shop stripey.

Satanic · 22/10/2005 08:43

The Cranium games for children are great - we love Cariboo.

A lot fo the board games in Woolworths are on buy one, get one half price.

DD enjoys Tummy Ache (although I have to say it was very expensive for such a basic, simple game) - she plays the game with us, but also uses the boards and acrds to make up horrible meal ideas!

She also has Woolworth's version of Hungry Hippos(frogs I think), Pop up dragon (£5 in ELC), and a giant inflatable snakes and ladderrs game.

She wants some more for Christmas so going to use the ideas here.

scaryclary · 23/10/2005 19:31

DP has just come back from a games fair in Germany with about 6 or 7 games for our 3 year old DD.

The are fantastic games. For advice on German games check out spirit games . They are very friendly and always willing to help out on the phone if you need it.

How about My First Scrabble? Available at Amazon. DD (age4) has always loved Bug Buddies from ELC. And Old MacDonalds Farm.
