Where can I get shaving cream in a solid block?

You'd think it would be easy but struggling to find a solid block of shaving cream as a wee pressie for my hubby. You know, the old fashioned kind that's applied with a brush. Help!

69p online!

There are much fancier ones of course - and is a stick OK?

Pagan · 20/10/2005 13:18

Ooh, might try that. Thanks

You can buy pots of solid shaving soap (with lids)in French supermarkets. Bit far to go I know but we stock up on loads when we go or get in-laws to get them when they go.
Smell nice too

orangina · 20/10/2005 13:36

Trumpers. THey might have a website....

orangina · 20/10/2005 13:38

here

Pagan,my dh uses Crabtree&Evelyn sandalwood shaving soap.
£5 a bar, smells very classy and lasts for ages. He reckons it's actually cheaper to use than the nasty foam.

expatinscotland · 20/10/2005 14:06

My dad's been using the Crabtree & Evelyn stuff for years, although he hasn't much body or facial hair and doesn't need to shave but once a week if that.

It's heaven!

He got DH hooked on it and I love the smell!

moondog · 20/10/2005 14:08

Bloke that sold us our kitchen got dh onto it when dh commented on the closeness of his shave and general air of suavity(!)

When I realised how much the kitchen was going to cost,I realised why he was so well dressed lol!

cori · 20/10/2005 14:08

I think Lush do them

You crack me up JanH!
I learnt how to do links specifically to stop myself from feeling like something form Neolithis times in your techy presence.
Hang on,I'll drag one up just to prove it to ya!

expatinscotland · 20/10/2005 14:15

I recommend the brush, too. DH says it gives him a phenomenal shave.

moondog · 20/10/2005 14:16

Also recommend the brush (dh does rather.)
I bought the whole caboodle for him in '98 and it is as good as new.

JanH · 20/10/2005 14:17

It's my only skill, moondog, so I have to trot it out whenever poss
