My dd has a new love - fairies. I'd like to get her some fairy themed things for Christmas and wondered if you had any recommendations?
She's almost 3.
TIA

dressing-up wings, with easy-on elastic loops, with glitter and possibly marabou trim
wings
a diamante magic wand
hair grips with fairies on
and did I mention wings?

Claire's Accessories is my best bet.

thanks binkie, they sound great.

Does anyone know of any fairy toys/figures or good books?

Hi Cupcakes.
My 5 year old girl is really in to fairies.
See if you can get a web ivory catalouge, they have loads of fantastic fairy themed items.
I have ordered the fairy story book which comes with a CD that tells the stories with a musical back ground!!!
Also woolworths have some jazzy fairy outfits etc...

The Book People often have fairy-themed activity books, like these and this looks good too . There are lots of fairy-themed books for older children, but I can't think of many offhand for her age. When dd was 3 she wanted a fairy doll for her birthday and although I searched high and low I couldn't find one. I bought a normal doll with long hair and made a fairy outfit and wings, bought a tiny tiara from good old Claire's Accessories (good point, binkie!) and that kind of thing. Dressing up stuff will be gratefully received, I'm sure!

A book

"Zoe at Fairyschool" by Jane Andrews.

DDs love this.

there does seem to be a deficit of fairy dolls. Well done in making your own, Tamum!

I was in Primark today and I got my dd(also 2) some lovely pyjamas with a fairy on the front. I can send you a photo if there isn't a Primark near you. This was in Kingston, not sure how soon I'll be there again but could certainly get some in time for Christmas for you if you are intrested.
They were only £3, and cotton. I could not believe this shop.... it was amazing. Sorry to go on

Jane Simmons - Where The Fairies Fly is a lovely book for this age.

LilacBump · 17/10/2005 16:46

there is a elc happy land fairy toadstool
fairy girl plate and bowl (seen them in asda, wilko and matalan)
felicity wishes books and gift sets (boots)
fairy wings, tiara and shoes for dressing up

Carameli · 17/10/2005 16:49

oh Lilacbump, my dd loves her happy land stuff, I might have a look for the toadstool for her stocking

cupcakes · 17/10/2005 21:04

Carameli - thank you but we're doing fine for pj's! I'll probably pop into our Primark and have a look
That ELC toadstool sounds just the job - will definitely look for that!
WWB - is Jane Simmons the same lady who writes the Daisy Duck books? Am going onto Amazon to have a peek.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I like this fairy castle but it's too expensive. Luckily I think dd will prefer that ELC fairy toadstool!

there is also this , if you think she'll like the toadstool.

WigWamBam · 17/10/2005 21:19

Cupcakes, I think it is the same Jane Simmons who writes the Daisy books ... I always assumed so, anyway!
