For a Quinny Freestyle XL.

Trying to save afew pennies so I bought one and used it today for the first time.

Errr, to say it didn't cover properly would be an understatment.

The entire back of the buggy is soaked through, the sides wet because the back was so wet and it soaked on to them. Even the pillow inside is wet because it was touching the sides.

The sale assisitant in MC told me that it would fit.

I've now ordered a proper Quinny freestyle raincover.

take it back to mothercare and say that it was not fit for the purpose and you would like your money back

LadyTophamHatt · 12/10/2005 18:46

I took it back but as I didn't have a reciept had to do an excahnge.

They even searched the till computers to checked it was purchased.

cheeky buggers.

My friend took her rain cover back being almost a year old and said that her mum bought it and it does not fit her Silver cross. No receipt of packaging and she got coupons for a refund.

startingtobehalloweenylover · 12/10/2005 19:26

hmmm well fwiw they cannot demand a receipt as by law they don't have to provide you with one!

startingtobehalloweenylover · 12/10/2005 19:28

from the sale of goods act:

Key Facts:

? Wherever goods are bought they must "conform to contract". This means they must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality (i.e. not inherently faulty at the time of sale).

? If goods do not conform to contract at the time of sale, purchasers can request their money back "within a reasonable time". (This is not defined and will depend on circumstances)
Q7. Do I have to produce a receipt to claim my rights?

No. In fact the trader doesn't have to give you a receipt in the first place so it would be unfair to say that you had to produce one. However, it might not be unreasonable for the shop to want some proof of purchase, so look to see if you have a cheque stub, bank statement, credit card slip etc., and this should be sufficient.

SOOOOOO... you are entitled to a monetary refund... but probably too late now

never mind, I exchnaged it for 2 fleecy sleepsuits for ds3.

He's nearly outgrown his one now so all was not lost.

Still bloody annoying though, especially as the buggy still isn't dry.
