Please could you help!
I would like a three wheeler with carrycot , where the baby can face rear and front when finished in carrycot.

Thats it really but seems like an odd thing to find - the only ones seem so heavy ( bebecar) or not my scene ( bugaboo) can anyone help!

Hi mimi... I didn't see any that face rear and front when I was looking - but that wasn't my priority so perhaps I just missed them!

They won't want to be facing back for long when they're out of the carrycot. They get bored of looking at mummy very quickly! (or is it just me???? )

NotQuiteCockney · 12/10/2005 16:23

If you mean, the baby can face backwards in carrycot, then forwards in normal seat, then the Mountain Buggy three-wheelers are good. We have the terrain, and are very happy with it, although it's fairly pricy.

Try looking at a Quinny/Maxi Cosi - like this one or there is another recently launched in Europe, Quinny 3xl Comfort, details here, which has a proper reversible adjustable seat and bumper bar etc ( looks similar to the old Fashion3 model which you could probably get 2nd hand in UK - KBear had one for sale on here recently, possibly still available, and we also have it in our loft!)

quinny buzz does all the below

fairydust · 12/10/2005 16:43

buzz

LIZS · 12/10/2005 17:00

Had forgotten the Buzz - but I think the front wheel on it is a bit small for off road use !.

mandymac · 12/10/2005 17:08

Bebe Confort Loola - Travel system with carry cot, car seat & buggy, the car seat & buggy bit can both be faced either forward or backwards. Buggy bit doesn't go completely flat, so not suitable for really tiny newborns, but if you get the carry cot bit, that shouldn't be a problem. Its not a 3 wheeler, but pretty funky and front wheels can swivel or lock, so can be used on uneven surfaces. Has spring suspension too.

Dophus · 12/10/2005 17:39

I loved the Jane travel system. The carseat doubles as a carrycot and baby faces you. when in pushchair mode it faces forward. The carseat is superb as well as it lies flat - great for long journeys. I swear by it.

Gem13 · 12/10/2005 18:16

Mutsy isn't a 3 wheeler but is similar all terrain type.

It has a carry cot and the seat can be rear facing.

I think the Icco Pod (sp?) is similar.

ionaming · 12/10/2005 18:46

Hiya, I think this one meets all your requirements.....3 wheeler, forward & rear facing, optional carrycot and carseat. It's not out in the shops yet, but is due later this month. Bebe Confort High Trek

HTH, Iona

aloha · 12/10/2005 18:47

I think the bugaboo is nice - if expensive. Why don't you like it? It certainly meets your criteria and is light.

vickiyumyum · 12/10/2005 19:02

the mountain buggy urban or terrain, do both of these. you can buy a seperate carrycot to fit it. i had the urban for ds2 and loved it.
not that heavy either, easy to fold (folds flat)

ionaming · 12/10/2005 19:04

I didn't realise the mountain buggy was rear-facing (without the carrycot)?

vickiyumyum · 12/10/2005 19:10

no only with the carrycot, sorry if not clear, didn't read before posting!!!!!

ionaming · 12/10/2005 19:33

Ah, that's a shame. Like the look of the mountain buggy - nice & simple. But am tempted by the Quinny Buzz or the Bebe Confort High Trek for no. 2, simply because they are forward & rear facing.

JennyWren · 12/10/2005 19:57

I have the i'coo Platon and I love it. The downside though is that it is heavy and bulky when you fold it, as it comes in 2 parts - the seat unit lifts off and clicks in either way round. But that seems to be standard for these pushchairs. My dd is 4 monthsold and loves looking at me and 'chatting' whilst we are on the go - but she can also still see the world go by, IYSWIM.

vickiyumyum · 12/10/2005 20:00

tbh i used my mountain buggy without the carrycot, used it from birth for short periods of time, but ds2 was mainly in a sling for the first 2 or 3 months.

LadyTophamHatt · 12/10/2005 20:08

Doesn't fit your criteria perfectly but I've recnetly bought a quinny freestyle Xl(without the carrycot) and it is FAB (see LIZS 1st link)

My 2 years old had bags of room in it, its' a very smooth ride, I love it.

mogwai · 13/10/2005 08:14

I've got the buzz and we go off road quite a lot with it. Had a puncture within a month (sitting on the pavement outside Next, trying in vain to pump it up. Delights of being a new mother - but I read about "slime" on mumsnet, so now we've got it covered with that.

Agree the front wheel is a bit small when off roading, but we manage. If there are any REALLY rough bits, we tip up to the back wheels until we get past it. I mean, I'm not climbing in the lakes with it.

Carrycot not good for off-roading - aby all over the place

Otherwise I love this pram. Wanted it in pale blue so imported it from Holland for the same price. You can get it in loads of colours on mainland Europe, including a lovely cadbury's purple...mmmmm

Mimi5 · 13/10/2005 17:43

Thanks so much girls....This is my 5th child and with number 4 we really felt as a big baby ( not newborn) that he was happier where we could talk to him ( facing) thats why i am so fussy this time !

i recommend jane 3wheeler. they have you ones that easy to attach carry cot or matrix carseat. they may be expensive(im not sure) but worth money.matrix is safe and long lasting untill 18m.
very good on off road, i did mountain walk in scotland, been to russia and mongolia with our slalom 3 wheller. pretty impressed. they r not too much all terrain look, like the others quite nice for city and country.
i had loola so wouldnt recommend, nice pushchair with great ideas but not very practical to me.
good luck

maisiemog · 30/12/2005 01:40

I've got a Jane Powertrack and had the Matrix carseat as a pram top (facing mummy), it worked really well, as we could go from car, to pram, to house, without waking ds. I was particularly pleased that we didn't run the risk of leaving him in an upright carseat for hours, as a teeny.
He went into the pramseat (forward facing) at about 5 months, and I really think he loved it at that age, he spent all his time in shopping trolleys trying to crane his neck round to see what was in front, instead of boring old mummy.
I was thinking about changing to the Slalom, but when I tried it in John Lewis, I was surprised to find that it felt heavier and less manouverable than the Powertrack. Anyone else noticed this?

suzi2 · 30/12/2005 11:05

I have the buzz and don't have a problem off roading in it. I too tip onto the back wheels if theres any really tough bits. Never used the carrycot. Just used the car seat on it. Love that DS faces me and we can chat as we go along

HaveYourselfaMerryMrsBadger · 31/12/2005 13:38

no-one's mentioned the Mutsy yet
are they no good? or is it just no-one's got one?
seems to fit the brief... (and the car seat lies flat which I like the look of)

bobblehead · 02/01/2006 01:58

Ooooh they do look nice! Anyone tried one? Do you have to buy all the bits seperately? Could work out expensive (I'd want them all...)
