could you just use an interest free credit card instead?

KBear · 09/10/2005 12:33

I didn't know there was one. It's for my in-laws. They're on a pension so don't know if they would qualify anyway but I was going to suggest it to them as a way of gettnig a new machine but hanging on to their bit of savings.

If they have a sunwin or co-op near them they do interest free credit on everything for 12 months.

aah, the good old co-op - didn't think about them. ta

If they get interest-free credit from a shop make dead sure that they pay it all off by the end of the period, otherwise they will be charged interest on the whole amount from day 1.

Co-op may be different but Currys and Comet definitely do this.

thanks - I read that on the Curry's website.

Do they still do it then, Kbear?

I just found this from 2002 saying they'd stopped (or maybe they've changed the way they promote it?)

Might have been Comet or one of the others, been on loads this weekend looking for a good deal for them. I know that somewhere I read that you get penalised for not paying it off in the term.
