Hiya,

I've had them for all four of mine - my ds2 has been wearing his all week, plus his sleeping bag - he sleeps right through the night from 8pm until 8.30 pm the following day!! So he must be cosy!! I'd recommend buying them!

BadHair · 08/10/2005 14:53

Ds1 hated his - he was far too hot. Used to scream blue murder.
I think they LOOK lovely and snuggly but in practice are too hot.

WigWamBam · 08/10/2005 14:59

They were brilliant when my dd was under 2 and in a cot as she always pushed the covers off and ended up cold. I wouldn't put her in them now though; with a duvet she would be too warm.

LadyTophamHatt · 08/10/2005 15:00

I put Ds3 to bed just in his pj's and when i got to bed put the fleecy suit on him.

He kicks all the covers off so this is the next best thing.

bonym · 08/10/2005 15:18

I used to put dd1 in an ordinary sleepsuit with a fleecy one on top instead of covers. Only in winter though.

SleepySuzy · 08/10/2005 15:18

Depends how cold your house is, I suppose. In winter, our house gets really cold. (Feb-March time).

nutcackle · 08/10/2005 15:38

Ds pushes all the covers off and I think thats why he's waking up, but dp disagrees and thinks he will be much too warm in one.

What would i put underneath, just a vest ?

LadyTophamHatt · 08/10/2005 15:50

ds3 wear's vest and Pj's under it.

bensmum3 · 08/10/2005 15:54

nutcackle, how much are they in woolies please, have they got feet and do they go up to 3-4 yrs ? I've been looking for some for ds as he's grown out of last winter's ones, and we cant get to woolies, but I can ask my mum to get some for me,if I know exactly what I want.

SleepySuzy · 08/10/2005 16:05

I saw them yesterday in Woollies, and they did have the really big 3-4 years sizes.

SirFurmum · 08/10/2005 16:24

DD wears one with PJs underneath and last winter a vest too when it was colder. She's never slept with blankets or covers as she's always kicked them off too. The only time she's ever been too hot in it is when summer is coming, but definitely not in the autumn/winter. I guess it must depend how warm his room is too though.

nutcackle · 08/10/2005 16:24

Woolies ones go up to 4-5 and have feet. They were, £13.99 buy one get one half price though.

They had Thomas, Bob, Tigger and Noddy and a couple of girls ones too.

Thankyou, I will ring my mum to have a look for me, We live in the NW of scotland and ds wears a bodysuit ot vest and a fleece sleepsuit and cotton sleepsuit under if its really cold.

KristinaM · 08/10/2005 20:38

Both my kids love them. Cant get 5yo to stop wearing hers and its too small really. Anyone seen them in bigger sizes - about 110cm or 116cm?

Nutty - they both wear vests and PJs underneath. That way they dont get cold at 2am when they have kicked the covers off

Laura032004 · 08/10/2005 21:29

My DS (18m) wears one as a grobag alternative. He loves it, but has a cold room, and won't keep his duvet on, so doesn't overheat.

NannyL · 09/10/2005 09:41

I too think they are great chen child out grows a grow bag as even if they kick off the covers they are still nice and warm!

Blackduck · 09/10/2005 10:41

They are also brilliant when a child is ill...just leave them in it and they stay toasty all day (the equivalent of laying on the sofa with a duvet!)

bambi06 · 09/10/2005 11:16

both of ours had them but then we never have heating on the noght so it does get cold and my dd would always kick the covers off regardless.

highlander · 09/10/2005 11:18

DS's room is about 21C and he wears.......

sleepy suit (feet chopped off) plus a fleece sleep suit.

Oh, and he snuggles under a 4.5tog duvet with a fleece blanket on top. Likes to be warm, just like his mum!

bea · 09/10/2005 22:45

dd1 and ds1 have both had these... basically as an alternative to a gro bag, they've always worn these with a bodysuit, sleepsuit and then the fleecy... ds has also got a cellular blanket over him (he's 20 months)... tehy're also great if you go travelling late at night in the car... keeps them snuggly and warm... dd still wears hers when we do a late night trip to graannies (in devon) she's 4 a bit on the small side but still very much fits into hers... woolies, defintely do do the bigger sizes...

shame they don't do them in adult size!!!!

mrsSD · 24/02/2008 01:11

My 6 yr old still wears them all winter, hes almost 7 and has just got too big for the 5 yr old ones hes wearing. I saw some both with and without feet on the verbaudet website before christmas but I was too busy to order. I tried to order last week when the weather was very cold but they have changed to their spring collection and I couldnt find them - I think they went up to ten yrs. I will need to be better organised next year unless anyone has any suggestions of where else to try?

nappyaddict · 24/02/2008 01:51

ds wears one with a vest and his quilt.

Peridot30 · 24/02/2008 02:37

YEw my 2 both wore them with a vest under it. Both of my children hate covers and this was the only way to keep them warm when they were smaller!

FairyFay · 24/02/2008 07:12

Mothercare do them in bigger sizes - age7-8 in some styles walk in sleepers

mejon · 24/02/2008 16:16

I dress DD in hers in the morning after she's got up (over her sleepsuit) as a 'dressing gown' type thing until its time to get dressed. We also have a very cold house so this past week when it was really chilly she was in a long-sleeved vest, cotton sleepsuit, fleecy sleepsuit and Grobag on top.
