Anyone tried the 'Eco-crib'?

They sell them at Mothercare - here

We've been planning to buy a Moses basket and stand but then I saw this. I like it because it flat packs so it's easy to travel with, which would be very useful over the holidays. It's also recyclable so it's easy to get rid of once baby outgrows it (this will most likely be our last child) and it's eco-friendly.

I'm concerned that it may be a bit too low to the ground and it doesn't fit on a Moses basket stand. The baby will sleep by our bed for the first few months and I would be worried that a pillow or part of the duvet could fall down over her face. Also there's the whole 'sleeping in a cardboard box' thing.

Anyone tried it?

I think they look fantastic and I would get one for my 4th if I didn't already have a moses basket.

They stand by themselves, why would ou want a stand? sorry don't understand that bit.

The fact that you can take it apart into 5 bits of cardboard so easily is fantastic - to bung in the card or keep on the top shelf of a cupboard in case a friend comes by/comes to stay with a baby... wonderful. And it is CHEAP!

I was thinking about the stand just to get it higher, more bed-level for ease at night, but maybe that wouldn't be an issue. I just can't make up my mind. Good point about having guests though. It can be such a pain to get the travel cot down from the loft.

I don't think it being lowish matters does it? means you will be able to see into it from a prone position instead of hoicking yourself up out of bed?
I don't tend to chuck my pillows out of bed so I wouldn't worry about that, but if you do just move the cot a foot or so away? I'm sure you wouldn't dump a pillow on her in your sleep anyway

Yes, PPH. I can be a bit of a worrier.

Glad that the reviews are positive so far. I'm really coming round to the idea.

Have to say that I don't like it. I've not tried it but it looks like a flimsy box. I wouldn't have one personally, but I do like the pattern.

I saw this in Mothercare the other day and thought it looked great - not flimsy at all. If I was going to have another baby (and didn't already have all the various types of beds that a baby needs!) I would definitely consider getting one.
