Scalextric alternative

For a 4 year old.

Looking for a cheaper version.

Similar to Tesco's version of Brio, was hoping that there would be a 'version' of Scalextric.

Thanks

There is 'My first scalextric' sold in alot of stores. Sells at around £30. It's alot easier to control and for a 4 year old it's just about right.

There's loads of 2nd hand Scalectrix on ebay.
DP just bought a set on there for him and ds (4y)and it was very cheap & in good order.

I bought one a few years back from the ELC. I thought it was a bargain at £40 but dh wasn't keen as he said we would never be able to extend it. Sure enough, it is now boxed up again and waiting for ds3 to be old enough to appreciate it. I don't know if buying a proper one would have been better...

I got to admit since buying 'My first scalextric, I've since bought the proper scalextric for my ds, so my 1st one is now redundant. I'd be careful buying 2nd hand though because unless I'm really unlucky I've always found it not to work.

Thanks, Mnetters. I knew someone would know.

I forgot about 'My first Scalextric' but was also worried about its shelf life.

Also thought of buying one form Ebay but was worried that bits might be missing.

Shall have a look at the links that WCL mentioned.

Thanks again
