Not sure where to post this but here goes! Have just booked to go to the Pixifoto studio in Mothercare (not travelling one) with voucher from Bounty pack (one free photo plus 10% off others) but really want more information about prices. Girl there quite evasive but I really wanted more of an idea before we go! Has anyone been recently? We went when DS1 was a baby (March 2008) and got quite a lot for £150 ish I think but that was a mobile Pixifoto thing. No idea of prices now- can anyone help? Also can you buy a CD now and how much would that be? I'd like to ideally buy a CD or a set of photos in different poses rather than same pose in different sizes. Also not even sure if you order on the day and how quickly you receive them! I'm a worrier and want to go into it with my eyes open rather than just fall in love with the pictures and have to remortgage to pay for them! Grateful for any information, thank you!

I did it about a year ago; I remember that they were very sketchy about the prices all the way through.

I went with a budget in mind but was flabbergasted when they eventually revealed how much it would cost (this was after she'd showed me the photos, by which time you're pretty much hooked by these lovely pictures of your DC).

I did get a few because the were lovely but I think for four 7x5inch (2 each of one photo - couldn't have 4 different ones) and one long photo it came to about £140.Shock

I'm still saving up to have the long one framed!!

Thanks for your replies, we really liked the photos we had of DS1 from Pixifoto, which is why we are using them for DS2 but would just love to have some up to date information on prices and whether can buy a CD now.

Hi There

I am a family portrait photographer - I do white background (like Venture) and also outdoors lifestyle shoots, and I charge £260 for the session (2 hours) + a DVD.
With that you get between 40-60 pictures on average in colour and B&W, that would be lots of different poses, groups shots, individuals etc.

Now I live in West London (but I am mobile, I shoot on location) and I am very competitively priced; ie, the other local independents charge between £300 and £800 for the same deal, so outside of London you can probably get it cheaper.

Do shop around; pixifoto aren't going to get you the best pics for your money. There are local independents who will charge the same (more or less) but you will get a better product at the end of it!

Search on google for family photographers in your area and take your time, shop around! Ask questions etc. These things are a lot of money and it's important you are happy.

I used to work for pixifoto - you can get 20 8x10 prints for £200 or if you want a CD you have to spend over £400.

try www.littlelookers.net - prices are much more reasonable

Hi we took DS about a year ago got 5 10x8 photos for £100 plus the free photo which was a bit naff. They were vague on prices and only revealed costs after they showed us the pictures of DS on their computer. Was pleased with the photos though.
