I thought that too!!!! I thought "no, they are called bras"

I have a few larger norked friends, and they all seem to use ring slings and be fine.

Bagpuss30 · 05/10/2005 11:24

Yes, had baby bjorn for first two and have just binned it as was too uncofortable. Now have a Wilkinet which is better as it is meant for the female form apparently. Certainly had no problems with it myself and I am a 38 DD. HTH

MrsSpoon · 05/10/2005 11:25

LOL, though this was a bra thread too!

LadyFioOfTipton · 05/10/2005 11:25

one sling or two?

Bewitched · 05/10/2005 11:34

Oh dear - are the baby bjorn ones really no good for us (I'm an H cup)? I quite liked the new active one when I tried it in the shop, but that was without a baby in it and only for a few mins. DH will be disappointed if he can't have that one as he was rather keen

purplebod · 05/10/2005 11:54

thanks - will have a look at wilkinet. I'm probably eing stupid, but what do dh, lol,dd actually mean???

Lol - laugh out loud
DH, DD, DS etc is dear/darling husband, daughter, son...

although in Bagpuss's case its bra size

HTH is hope that helps

IYSWIM is if you see what I mean (sometimes K instead of S for know)

WigWamBam · 05/10/2005 12:00

The acronyms are all up at the top - dh = dear/darling husband, ds = dear/darling son, dd = dear/darling daughter, lol = laughing out loud.

Link for the Wilkinet here , they will actually make the strap lengths longer for you if you need them to (for over a size 20). Beware though, the Wilkinet is a pig to put on (I felt I needed to be an octopus) and I didn't really get on with it all that well. Do watch the video on the link about how to put it on, it'll give you some idea whether you'll find it easy or not. It's one of those slings you either love or loathe.

MrsDoolittle · 05/10/2005 12:06

I have large bazookas too and I used a baby bjorn sling with my first baby. I cringe with shame now when I see all the photographs of me wearing it with dd.
I definately intend to use something diiferent for No. 2.
I have been looking at one of these .

Mummyvicky · 05/10/2005 12:13

im a 38H,and a mum to three and I have really struggled with most of the front carriers. When they are newborn its alright, but after 3 months, they squase your norks- and the straps dig in.
Ring slings are fabulous as your back takes the weight and not your shoulders!

I have a mei tai carrier that covers the boob area well and is very comfy...not as big as some of you (38dd) but try searching for kozy carrier on google....

hunkerpumpkin · 05/10/2005 12:28

I'm a 34G and I loathed the Wilkinet. But then I wanted a sling I could feed in...and that wasn't it!

I'm going for (I think...) a ring sling this time.

MrsDoolittle · 05/10/2005 12:35

What's a ring sling?

WigWamBam · 05/10/2005 12:40

Rings slings are basically just a length of material that you wrap around in various ways and fasten with the end of the sling through a ring. Like this one .

MrsDoolittle · 05/10/2005 12:45

Oh I see, so like the ones I've linked to.

ScarySkribble · 05/10/2005 23:36

I loved the Wilkenet. I bought it second hand and it didn't go round DH, so I sewed the end of the straps into loops and used a seperate little strap through that. Sounds complicated but it was simple enough. The Wilkinet is quite daunting at first but you get can get the hang of it.

ScarySkribble · 05/10/2005 23:46

I did also use a shemag h as a sling too for carrying them as toddlers on my hip.
