Swing for a 15 month old

We are currently wanting to put a swing up in our garden for DD1, who is now 15 months old - anyone got any recommendations? There are so many out there, I am getting thoroughly confused!
Also, we are thinking of getting her a slide, as she loves the ones at the park, but she hates the little 'baby' ones and will only use the bigger ones. Anyone know of anything suitable?

Frogling,

Definitely don't bother with one of those mini nursery swings - they outgrow them so quickly both in terms of size and thrill factor. ds (not big for his age) upended himself in one aged 15 months. You could buy one like the elc frame with baby seat but if you wait until next summer your dd would probably be able to sit on a proper seat.

As to the slide, two factors to take into consideration. Firstly how much use will it get now as you may have different feelings of her capabilities next year, but then you could get something like the TP set which "grows". Secondly presumably at the park she gets constant supervision on the equipment, if it were in your garden are you happy that she will have access to it whether fully supervised or not (I used to pack ds off out there whilst I got chores done). We bought ds a Little Tikes hide and slide castle for his second birthday which he loved and was well within his capabilities so safe enough for him to use with little supervision. If she only has the choice of one then chances are she will use it regardless of size. There are several plastic types around suitable for toddlers.

I would say go to Toys r us and let her try them out but it may already be too late in the summer.

If you fancy the wooden look but not TP's prices then look at Dunster House in the bedford area - sorry still can't do links - we have the amazon and ds loves it

If you have a tree to hang it from the ikea one which looks like a little basket is great and only costs £12. My baby has loved it since he was about ten months.
It's very safe, sturdy and stylish and my four year old can still fit into it too.

Jasper, I bought that swing last week! DS (19 months) loves it & it's now the only thing that he'll do in the garden (apart from stealing tomatoes!). Wish he hadn't tried quite so hard to help me put it together though...

hoxtonchick, isn't it great? I was surprised how long it took to put together but once built it is really strong. I've even had a wee go myself ( no I didn't stick my legs through the bars)
