Did anyone buy a nursing chair? i have tested one out in a shop... very comfy... one of the glider ones with gliding foot stool too. They cost around 400 quid though... do people find they used them a lot, are they helpful?

Fed ds in one at the Baby Show in birmingham this year in the "feeding zone" (erk!) - - soooooo comfy to feed in.
Too pricey for our budget though.

We bought a high backed chair with arms from IKEA and loads of nice cushions to match the nursery instead (about £30 in all). Whatever you get, make sure your back is well supported and your feet can touch the ground easily.

I got one from Tesco direct ages ago for much cheaper. I really like it, but is def. a luxury not necessity.

Btw I use mine now as a TV chair as sofa is too soft & I'm prone to slouching, this helps me look after back a bit better too

I got a nice low armchair with low arms called "FLEN" from Ikea as a nursing chair, it has been great. about £65 I think. has a cream cotton removable loose cover you can wash. Is great as a bedroom armchair for afterwards because it isn't too big. Bought it 5 years ago (and another one for a spare bedroom about 2 years ago) and last time I looked they still did them.

you do need a comfortable chair in the nursery at night, but those gliders I felt were too enormous, too ugly and too expensive. I bet they are very comfortable though....

We treated ourselves to a glider chair and footstool and it has been brilliant. We tried lots of others but decided the glider was by far the most comfortable chair we'd ever sat in.
However, a friend of mine bought her nursing chair from IKEA and loves it.

I've got one but it's just not comfy for feeding. I think I'm too tall for it, as the arms aren't high enough for me to rest my arm on while feeding, and there doesn't seem to be any lower back support.

That said, it's supremely comfortable when I'm pregnant - especially towards the end - and is lovely for reading bedtime (or anytime) stories with a child on lap. I look forward to the time when baby doesn't grab at the pages, so that I can try to read to both of them in the rocker!

We bought a second hand one from a friend. It was in pristine condition and although I still consider it a luxury its a wonderful one. I reguarly feed in it and although originally it had been intended for dd2's bedroom its never made it to there because its used throughout the day. I too could not have afforded 400 quid (friend sold it to me for 120 and even though it was an ouch) but I would look around places like ebay and loot because it is wonderful. The stool is required as well because its that that allows you to rock with barely any effort.

I've just tried ebay and found this for 130.00
