Has anyone got any experience of de
-humidifiers? Our house has got really high moisture levels. So much so that there is a mould on the walls. Called in damp expert who suggested a de-humidifier. Just wondered if they do clear the problem up quite quickly?

Don't know whether you've used one already but we had to get one inour cellar after the gas people cut through the electrity cables in the area and our freezer defrosted. we had to empty it quite regularly but it did the job. Got ours from B&Q

We used one for our damp bedroom and its been borrowed for a leaky caravan. It fills up the tank quite quickliy so i guess it worked. You will have to look at why you have high moisture levels and perhaps sort that out too as a dehumidifier will not prevent damp. It won't cure damp unless the cause has been traced. Can even be due to lack of ventelation.

No never used one before and don't know anyone who has used one so I turned to mumsnet! Ours is coming from B&Q so good to know it worked well.
Skribble you've hit the nail on the head, our house is an old chapel and not alot of ventilation so lots of humidstat extractor fans in the process of being fitted! Hopefully dehumidifier will get rid of the hanging about moisture! Fingers crossed!
