anyone got any good suggestions (or indeed any to avoid!)from experience? I was thinking maybe of one with a parent handle so we could use it on the school run etc. Thanks in advance

We had a Baby Driver trike which is good as you can limit the steering and push along, whether they can pedal or not. Possibly more fun and easier for them to play with at home is a Bobby Car for which you can get a parent handle and/or tow rope !

A trike (some have a waist strap to hold them on so they don't get off halfway across the road) and as luck would have it I have one for sale! It's a Triang - £50 new - asking £20 ono. SE London by any chance????

I will sell this stuff if it kills me!

Good try KB but I'm afraid we're Worcs so nowhere near -good luck. Sounds like a bargain so I'm sure someone will snap it up

God loves a trier (I am told!).

BadgerBadger · 22/09/2005 15:02

Not exactly practical for the school run, but DD2 (1) loves it, DD1 (3.5) loves it.

I've had a go and I love it too!

Highly recommend this shop too. She's really pleasant and our delivery arrived the day after we ordered!

wheely bug!

Definitely a trike if you want to push it, and have it last. One with a waist strap, rubber tyres (plastic ones are very loud on the pavement), a bucket at the back to put stuff in, and adjustable length. We've got mothercare's one. John Lewis sell one that looks much the same as our - except it's got a bag for your stuff too! Don't get the Little Tikes one - its bigger, harder to handle and has plastic wheels.

They just push them along with their feet when playing in the garden for ages and ages but thats ok.

Pushalong buggy thing is quite good (I borrowed one from our toy library). But not so easy to push as a trike, and more limited use by 18mo.

If you are not so concerned about the school run; dd loves the little wooden trike (also on John Lewis). She's 3.5 and still loves it (got to persuade her to relinquish it to ds in the next 6mo or so...)

Ds 19 mths.
Bought a a more simplified (without rucksack), but almost identical, 'baby driver trike', same as link shown by lizs, from car-boot-sale, for £3.

Ds loves it.
He uses it all the time.
Particularly good for walking him 'up the town' to get sunday newspapers.

I highly recommend it.
Loads of them on e-bay.
Or saw them brand new for £19.99
