Has anyone bought their stonewear products and is it as good as they say? I'm tempted, but it's quite expensive.

My friend bought a stone plate, it is in her kitchen, it hasn't moved since the day she put it there a year ago.

Does that help ???

TinyGang · 16/09/2005 13:06

Yes I thought that!

All the other run of the mill kitchen stuff they do is madly expensive, but they keep saying the stonewear is so great for various reasons.

I'm a bit 'Hmmmm..' about it (well skeptical, really!). It comes from the usa where they're really into buying this kind of thing at parties. I don't think we're quite the same here.

I've got the stoneware and use it all the time. It is pricey, but I didn't buy any of it until I hosted a party so I got about £150 of products for £53. It does do what they claim, ie doesn't stick, and things do cook better on them.

And it is more pricey generally (some of the stuff is ridiculously priced) but the quality is really high. It will last a lot longer than the woolies or IKEA version.

TinyGang · 16/09/2005 13:23

Well that's encouraging serenity - I seem to have said I'll have a party, you see. (How I end up saying yes to these things is a mystery!) I might be interested if it was a bargain!

Just make sure you invite loads of people who will spend a little bit each, or find some rich friends/relatives who'll spend shedloads 'cos thats how you build points up.

You get more points for having a kitchen party too (the one where they demonstrate the products by cooking yummy food - only reason I originally agreed!) We had a really nice girly evening at ours. We all had some wine, watched her cook and then had our little 'supper', everyone was mellow and happy and then more inclined to spend

Any evening pampered chefs out there with thumbs up or down??

I am over here in the US and I had a party about 2 years ago. I love their baking stones and use mine at least three times a week. They also have a great spatula and cake cutter. It is much more fun if you do have a party and get lots of free things and a discount. The pricing is middle of the road here in the US--some of the kitchen stores here are much more expensive. I do think they have good quality kitchenware and you will use and enjoy it.
