Sat Nav - would you recommend yours?

We're looking at sat navs for the first time. We'd like one with Europe maps and one that's reliable (both in terms of satellite connection and getting the directions right) and easy to use.

Any recommndations?

I am very happy with my Garmin.
It's portable, reliable and includes the whole of Europe. I also have blue tooth which allows me to talk hands-free on my mobile through it while I'm driving.

Have tried both a garmin and s tom-tom. The tom-tom was far superior, I absolutely hated the garmin. I was totally against getting a sat nav when dh asked for one for his birthday, but I am a total convert and love the tom-tom.

Tomtom. We got ours two years ago and wouldn't be without it now. I initially wanted one for when we were living in Switzerland and the DD would be invited to a birthday party in a village not on any map known to man. Blod (that's what we call our voice) has sorted me out time and again.
We moved to Belgium 12 weeks ago and she has been brilliant here.
Blod has been known to take us along some strange roads in england, but that was to save 250 metres of driving.
Would def recommend a tomtom.
The bonus is, she doesn't start to sound cross when she needs to recalculate the way a garmin does. Tried my mum's before we settled on ours.

Thanks - the Garmin v TomTom divide is interesting.
What models do you have? How quick are they to find the satellite and plot your route?
