Has anyone ever had these done - thinking of doing one for grandparent's Xmas presents (argh - I know, forward planning or what?!)

Just wondered if anyone could recommend a good company to get them through?

Oh great, thanks Trefusis - I'm guessing lots of people have had them and I'm sure there was a thread last year but I can't find it.

We did them through one of the charity xmas catalogues. It wasn't tha hard to do, and I felt better because some of the cash went to a good cause....if only I could rememeber which one!

I haven't used them for calendars, but Photobox do them and are generally very good. It's £14.99 for a 12 page A3 one; don't know how that compares?

NCT do them too.

Calender-in-a-box are brilliant, I got one of these last year and they are really professional. You buy a box, which contains a pre-paid envelope, you take your photos (paper or on disc) put in enevlope and send off, approx 2 weeks later you receive your calender.

I really do recommend this and can give you a contact for them if you are interested.

I would guess that the price difference between these places is mainly down to logistics- with places like Photobox you just upload your pics to the web, as you do for ordering prints, so I suppose that's easier for them than the GLTC method. If you use a site regularly then you would already have a good selection of pictures uploaded to choose from (I am talking myself in to this, I can see....)

Yes i like the sound of the ones done on line as it seems much easier. I think the calendar-in-a-box one was recommended last year though - does it have a website?

We've done the NCT calendars twice and will do again ... good quality, simply put pics on CD (or send original prints) and post off. Takes a couple of weeks. Make lovely Xmas presents.

What a fantastic idea! Just found the following one which costs £13.99 for a wall calendar and they give £3 to Leukaemia Research. lrfcalendar.create-a-gift.co.uk/public/create.asp

We've done it before but the following year we made our own. Its easier enough to print out pics on thin card. If you go to a local art/ printers shop then can do the ring binding for next to nothing. We've also done one using our kids artwork which was really good. Actually my kids are really getting into calenders and time this year so I might make one myself in secret for them. You can put special dates on the calander itself which looks really cool.

Another good gift which is great for posting etc is to pop all your photos from the year onto a DVD and send out that.

I do them myself every year. Most of the digital photo software stuff has calendar templates and I just choose my photos and print them off. Warning though - it uses a lot of ink! I find the quality of my home made ones better than the ones you send away for.
I get the kids to do the front covers to make them personal - when they were both smaller we used foot and hand prints - but I think ds's feet would be too big for that now!
