Any opinions - Kids Kargo Tandem Jogger (Littlewoods Direct)

I am new to Mumsnet so bear with me!!

I am currently pregnant with my 2nd baby. DS is 19 months old and will be 23 months when "number 2" arrives at the beginning of November.

I've been reading the thread regarding tandem vs double buggies which has been very interesting and provided much food for thought and debate with dp.

Does anyone have any experience of the Kids Kargo Tandem Jogger featured in the Littlewoods Direct catalogue. I've not seen it anywhere else and can find no reviews about it either. I'm loathe to fork out copious amounts of money without doing some research first! So far, my internet searches have been fruitless.

The link is attached so you can see it:Kids Kargo tandem jogger

Thanks everyone!

Hi,

I would also be interested to know if the 'three positions' means both seats lie flat and if anyone would recommend any other tandems that have roughly the same features. There is nothing suitable in the review section.
Thanks
Arwen

You can usually get an excellent deal on brand new Kidz Kargo on Ebay. I'm sure I have heard that they are failry heavy and difficult to manouvre though.

Tere is a brand new one here or a lightly used one in excellent condition here

Just my opinion but I don't think 1 of the 3 positions would be fully reclined. My Maclaren has 3 positions and doesn't go back far enough when DS falls asleep - he looks really slumped.

This could open a whole can of worms (I think double buggies are a Mumsnet 'hot' topic!) but the Instep Nipper looks great, there was a rave review about it on what turned into the Kiwi explorer thread, and it reclines almost fully. With newborn support it's just over the £200 mark. It's light and not that much wider than the single one (which I have and am really pleased with).

I've gone for a double Mountain buggy but that's because I want D? to be in a carrycot. There's one on eBay too at the moment.

Isn't the nipper a side by side? Due to poor configuration of front door and porch door I can barely get my single pram through ( oh for a large house!) and as baby no 2 is due in Jan I don't want to be having to get children out in tipping rain/freezing cold to collapse pram to bring it in. Where do I find info on Kiwi Explorer and read whole tandem pram discussion? Bear with me I'm new to this!

This is the thread you are asking about. I think one of the mums put a link to some photos of the buggy too. They were much better than the ones used by the companies that sell them if I remember correctly.

Please don't buy one of these, My sister in law has one and it's one of the worse tandems i've ever used. The front wheel sticks and tips the pushchair over everytime you dismount the kerb. it tends to drag to the left the harnesses are easy to undo (My 18month old nephew had no problems.) To recline the back you have to readajust and clip two straps, theres no leg room at the back and the front recline is practically ontop of the back seat. They are big and bulky and you have to remove th e front wheel everytime you collapse it. So again please don't buy this pushchair.
If you want my advice the best tandem is the Graco stadium duo. I've got four kids and one on the way and i've just ordered my fourth one, plus you can get the power lock carseat to go with it. if you're after a three wheeler go for the Phil and teds as they are much easier to push and they grow with your kids.
