Have you got one?

What's the best one you've ever seen?

I saw this and liked it because it's an old fshioned style but plush and then I realised how small it was!

Any reccomedations?

I was my childhood Rocking Horse for my boys. It is now hidden under a bed in pieces. Lasted 20 years until they got hold of it. I'm still in the smiling lying stage of saying, ooo yes they adore it. Little shits.

we've got one of these in the shed. DS1 used it LOADS (as did my brother and as as children, and my cousin who's now in her 40's). Sadly we've got no space for it in this house though - so DS2 won't use it

Thomcat · 08/09/2005 23:16

oh no, gutted FF
I always, always wanted one when i was a kid. Lottie pretends to ride a horse around the house and I thoguth it would be a nice thing to pass down through the generaations, just trying to find the right one.

Have never seen one like that QQ, that looks like a classic.

It's called "Flash" (well that's what my cousin called it as a child and the name has lived on ) and it's wonderful (makes a very 'squeaky' noise when being ridden but lots of fun)

fairyfly · 08/09/2005 23:21

I adore the little stick horse thingymagigs, they are fab.
The one i had is wooden with no fur and can be put back together as soon as i find a willing person.

I would say find one in a local Craft place instead of online, they sell beautiful ones near me.

My sister brought one for her daughters, i will ask when she gets back off her holidays where from.

SleepySuzy · 08/09/2005 23:21

What do you think of this? I have been selling them on Ebay for £30 + £8 postage.

QueenOfQuotes · 08/09/2005 23:23

there's loads of different ones of ebay at the moment.

jampots · 08/09/2005 23:24

my children have this one

Thomcat · 08/09/2005 23:26

That would be great thanks FF,

QQ - it couldn't be anything other than Flash

SS - I think it's a good price but it's not quite the classic type I was thinking off to pass down through the years really.
I'll come back to you if I change my mind though.

We are lucky enough to have a carpenter in the family FIL made one for DD's 3rd birthday & put a time capsule inside it saying who he & dd both were & when he made it etc. Can't see anyone ever thinking to break open a rocking horse & look inside it though

SleepySuzy · 08/09/2005 23:27

No problem

fairyfly · 08/09/2005 23:31

Do you mean like this or this

Beautiful

Thomcat · 08/09/2005 23:38

FF yes that Kensington Horse site is the one I saw the one I liked but realised that it was 125pounds because it was tiny! I'll ring and see what the others cost tomorrow.

ionaming - that sounds so lovely

jampots · 08/09/2005 23:39

SleepySuzy · 08/09/2005 23:42

jampots · 08/09/2005 23:44

this one

SleepySuzy · 08/09/2005 23:45

ah, that is so like this one

jampots · 08/09/2005 23:46

yes, the resemblance is uncanny

QueenOfQuotes · 08/09/2005 23:47

no surely it was this one???

QueenOfQuotes · 08/09/2005 23:48

psst - that one is £11 cheaper here

SleepySuzy · 08/09/2005 23:49

or this?

jampots · 08/09/2005 23:52

actually im not interested in saving £11 because

(a) my dh earns £2m and

(b) we bought it about 6 years ago

jampots · 08/09/2005 23:52

and for the record QoQ - that is the exact one (no rosette on ours)
