Furball · 08/09/2005 20:57

Actually, it's not that bad an idea. Great price as well.

misdee · 08/09/2005 20:58

the idea is good, but i dont think it would be a good idea in a house with other kids. but it isd a good price, but am wondering if you could build your own out of supermarket boxes

oh i think that's lovely!
(wouldn't dare here though, one sneeze from my boxer and.......)

Chandra · 08/09/2005 21:05

much better than the cardboard cots you get in longhaul flights though

LouiseT · 08/09/2005 21:25

I saw that too in the catalogue and thought it would be really good to have upstairs in our room (if and when no 2 comes along) but it's no bigger than a moses basket/pram. I'd prefer it to a horrid moses basket though, you could rock it an they'd be up off the floor without having to fork out for a stand. Collapsable too - to stick in the loft. You'd also need to get a matress too though. Good to take to family, etc. too.

If I was in the situation I think I'd consider one. Yep I've talked myself into one if we have a no 2 in the near future.

flamesparrow · 08/09/2005 21:42

Hmmm... not sure how well it would stand up to no 1 trying to rock no 2!

misdee · 08/09/2005 21:43

i envisgae dd2 trying to climb into it (liek she did to the moses basket) going 'im a baby waaaaaah' (dd2 weighs around 40lb these days)

Vaunda · 08/09/2005 22:27

erm... don't think i would put a baby in tha think i'd rather use a cardboard box or if that desperate the top drawer of my chest of drawers lol

harpsichordcarrier · 08/09/2005 23:16

yeah and imagine when you left the baby out in the rain...

SleepySuzy · 08/09/2005 23:17

What happens when her nappy leaks? Or she is sick?

starlover · 08/09/2005 23:17

i think itt's fab! excellent price, and you can flatpack it for number 2 etc!

i would DEFINITELY have had one of those if they were around when ds was born... it's great!

starlover · 08/09/2005 23:18

presumably it is coated... like the boxes from abel and cole... they get wet but don't go soggy

flamesparrow · 09/09/2005 08:55

Don't ya just hate it when you forget, and leave the baby out in the rain! [rolls eyes]

lucykate · 09/09/2005 09:05

i saw one of these in mothercare last week, agree with sleepy suzy about the nappy leaks. if a nappy is going to leak, why it always at night!?.

would it turn into papier mache?

zippitippitoes · 09/09/2005 09:07

I think it looks cute but a bit femmer

I doubt you'd be able to use it up to 6 months, 3 maybe...

My guess is look out for them in the sale

(miss)

starlover · 09/09/2005 10:29

it's going to have a mattress in it! you aren't going to put a baby straight onto the bottom. and so if the nappy leaks then what's the problem./

as i said, i would guess that it is coated in something that is both reasonably waterproof and flame retardant to meet safety standards.

it is the same size as any other crib, so would last just as long
